Rutt makes it 2-0 on the power play. 10:30 or so left in the first.

Will this year's team live up to the USCHO preseason #15 ranking and make the dance and be The Good? Will they be like last year's The Bad? Or will they completely tank, miss the Hockey East playoffs and be The Ugly?

Back from the dead. Have to ask who is the awful play by play guy doing the game on radio? Where is Hannigan? I may have to get back in the radio business if this is what you have to listen too?

(John Tortorella was no slouch in that department either, even back when they let a lot of stuff go that would earn you a DQ today.)

It's all academic because Steve Widemeyer didn't play 4 years.

You could be right; reasonable minds can differ. ( And let's not forget Brenden, either.)

Still, now that I think about it, Prestin probably took more dumb and unnecessary penalties than any player I've seen in a Maine sweater, and I've seen them all at least a few times. ( Walsh and Diamond are mighty close, though... Honorable mentions to them, anyway. )

I had high hopes for O'Connor in this department, but Timmy has apparently coached the stones off of him. :p

Can't fault Ouellette tonight...still a bad taste having a 2-0 lead and losing it with 1:06 left in the 3rd period...Diamond has a target on his back,2 calls on him that I disagree with,no response from TW...lets it happen/does not even get in a holler or two at the Refs...saw the "HOBBY" A.D. in Attendence,did he stay for the game or just the Ceremony and back to Portland..? Or did he know there was a Hockey game on..? 2-9-1= Long/Bad season continues.

I wasn't at the game but how many leads has Maine given up in the last few minutes lately? They go into a Timmay shell and its guaranteed to produce results we don't want. Sounds like Marty has a full time job

#51 looked like a New Man out there,one with Confidence...not fighting pucks...hopefully he Continues...so far not the results we want...but has given the team a chance to win. Still @ 2-9-1 ans that is SOUR.

Ouellette is playing with a great deal of poise and confidence. He was partially screened when the puck went in off his arm on the tying goal (his words). I'm not sure how a penalty was called on Rutt in OT. During the same play Ouellette was taken down and the net completely dislodged as players from both teams rushed the net. I think the defense is playing much better, particularly the freshmen and sophomores. The offense is still struggling. There were times when players should have put the puck on net when given opportunities but seemed tentative or just didn't have the on ice awareness. I think they will improve as the season progresses.
