Lunch II

If I have to order out for lunch, I've been ordering from Potbelly. Not as good as Jersey Mike's, but miles ahead of Subway and Jimmy John's.

Potbelly has become a favorite of ours. Hot Sammies for the pregnant misses are a must.

Their Cuban is very good. Especially with roasted red peppers.

I’d put PBs near the top. I still like JJs, but different meals for different days. I don’t remember the last time I went to a JM’s though.

Slim Chickens (my new fav fast food which I've been to too many times since they opened near work)
Crispy Chicken sandwich with potato salad.

Delicious cold potato salad for a hot day. Not sure if they use liquid smoke or what, but the bacon flavor permeates the whole salad, despite very few chunks of bacon in it.

I made lentil soup (Greek style - called Fakes for me and my mom on Saturday. It came out really good. I brought all the leftover soup home with me and had it for supper last night and the rest will be for lunch this week. Delicious and healthy!

I like Jersey Mike's for cold subs (they're all good, but the standard turkey club w/ their vinegar dressing really takes that classic to the next level) and Potbelly for hot/toasted subs.

Lately though, we've been ordering local from this place. Their Italian on a crusty hard roll with hot giardiniera is *chef's kiss* and easily the best Italian sub I've had since I used to regularly eat at Fontano's Subs in Chicago on work trips. Shopping there is dangerous though, because I never just get subs. I always end up with a selection of olives and a salad or two from the self-serve bar, some fresh ravioli, a focaccia, some Italian cookies, etc.
