We'll need some of the other returning guys to step up their production as well if the Lakers hope to build upon this season. It looks like the Lakers will have 4 freshmen up front next season but you never know how much scoring you're going to get from first year guys.

I think Mucha will be a key player going into next season. The team has had such good luck & chemistry with their lines this year, he just hasn't found that spot.

Good win for the Lakers to wrap up home ice (in combination with Mankato beating Bemidji). They'll play either Bemidji or Tech next weekend depending upon what happens tomorrow night. The Lakers could still finish as high as 3rd if they win again tomorrow night and UAH beats BG again (although UAH sweeping BG isn't too likely).

In a first round game of the BCHL playoffs last night, Cowichan Valley beat heavily favored Penticton 4-1 in the first game of their series. For Cowichan Valley, Niko Esposito-Selivanov had 2 goals and 2 assists. Niko will be joining the Lakers next season.

Lakers first top 4 finish in 19 years. Diego first Laker in 22 years to score 22 goals. This has been a very good season.

Nice to see Semendal score his first goal as a Laker.

What would happen if BGSU, NMU and LSSU all finished with 53 points? How would tiebreakers go in a 3 way tie? Very unlikely but still possible.

First would be WCHA wins. Bowling Green would have less than NMU or LSSU and would be seeded 4th. Then you have LSSU/NMU, and NMU won the season series 3-1 and would be the #2 seed.

If BG continues to fall asleep during games, they can lose again. The slept for part of the first period, but it did not hurt them. They decided to nap again in the third and gave up 3 goals. Once they woke up they dominated the game, but it was too late. When we play 60 minutes, we can beat anyone. The trouble is we haven't played 60 minutes in many games during the second part of the season.

Why would you ever compare LSSU to the defending champs? Lake State has been in darkness for all but maybe at best a handful of seasons since Jackson left. I was sad about the NMU series but 21 wins is important for re-establishing this program.

It’s hard to get people to buy into a program that routinely finishes near the bottom of the standings. This season is key to getting people to realize it is still possible for Laker hockey to be a player in college hockey.

If the Lakers give BSU or MTU the chances they gave up to Ferris last night, could be a very short playoff run.

People have been talking about Pairwise and NCAA tournament participation the past few weekends. Would most likely play Duluth or St. Cloud if they somehow won the WCHA and made it in.

Lakers won't last long in the play-offs if they play the way they have the last 4 games .

For the first time since the 1974 NAIA Championship game, the Lakers and Bemidji State play in playoff action. Hope the Laker power-play wakes up. I think this series with go 3 games with all the games being close.

The Lakers coaching staff has 4 days to figure out why the Laker power play is so pathetic . Hard to win when you cannot score a power play goal. I still cannot figure out why Arizona could lose 2 games over the weekend to a 500 team and not lose a spot in the pair wise rankings.

PK hasn't been all that good the past month either. If they want to be playing beyond this weekend, special teams play needs to be better, defensive play needs to be better (giving up too many odd man rushes and breakaways the past couple of weekends), they need to get good goaltending, and they need to do a better job of scoring first in the game. They better come to play. They didn't do that the last game they played Bemidji.

Big win for the Lakers. If they had lost tonight, I think they would have been in big trouble. They even got 2 goals on the PP which is a big relief. Still a lot of work to do if they want to advance.
