Nice win! Diego leads the nation in goals with 24.

I was only able to attend Friday's Game. I was very impressed with the excitement and atmosphere at the Taffy Able. I understand Saturday's Crowd was just as good.
Frankly, I was a bit disappointed with the actual attendance numbers. Considering there really wasn’t any conflicts, I was hoping for 2,500 each night. Kind of a bummer that Sault Ste Marie didn’t come out more to support the team.
The crowd that did show up was absolutely awesome. They were loud and engaged the whole series. The Taffy was definitely rockin’
It seems like attendance always struggles for the first round of playoffs in college hockey. Mankato is usually around 4000 and only drew 3000. Minnesota could not even get to 2,000 for either game against Michigan.
I'm not sure that I'd have shown up to watch the Mavs RUTS UAH.

For sure. That Minnesota/Michigan series was abysmal.
The usual conference playoff obstacles - Spring Break for students, Minnesota High School semifinals and finals- plus a predicted massive snowstorm for Saturday that caused the game to get moved up 3 hours. This weekend will be interesting to see how it plays out. It should help that the students are back, but on the down side, this round is not covered in the season ticket holder package. Not a traditional rival, but a team that beat us in Mankato the last time we met. But we're also guaranteed an NCAA bid, and it looks like we'll have to travel to Pennsylvania or farther for that, so some fans may be saving money that trip. Hoping for 3500 or better, but not betting money on that. Last year against Tech, in a similar situation, the numbers were 2672, 3309, and 1962 (Sunday games are always going to stink).
Losing 2 games this weekend would maybe help get you to Fargo instead?![]()
Congrats to Saccoman and Kossoff for winning WCHA Player of the Week honors.
Hopefully Saccoman brings some of his magic to his home state this weekend.
