Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread
I can't wait for another season of Damon Whitten and Laker Hockey!

Seeing that we are getting into July, what are some hopes people have for the upcoming season.
My hope is that they can get into the semifinal best of 3 playoff series.
It would be nice if they can do it by finishing 4th and winning a home playoff series. However, if they finish 5th or 6th and can advance on the road, that would be great as well.
The early commitments don't always work out that well. Some of these young kids don't develop as much as expected and are cut loose from their commitments by their prospective schools. There is some risk involved in going after the very young kids although I don't think the risk is as great for the big name programs; they get commitments from enough of the talented young kids such that if a few of them don't work out it doesn't hurt their programs that much. I think it's s bigger risk for the smaller schools; they don't get as many early commitments from the high end kids so if some of them don't work out there is more of an impact. Personally I'd like to see the NCAA put some rules in place to not allow commitments from kids under 16 years old. Of course they would need to come up with some enforcement mechanisms as well. I'm not sure if there have been any commitments from kids 12 years old yet but I think there have been at least a few commitments from kids who are 13. And it's becoming more common to see commitments from kids who are 14. I don't like this trend.I just hope they are a better team and end up with a much better record than they have had the last two seasons. it is amazing when you look at the recruits who have signed with college teams and how the big power house schools have already signed players who will not becoming in for four five years yet. Lock up the talent early and it keeps you out there as a power house team .

Looks like it was put together by a 10 year old. So Bush League at LSSC. Get you S#!T together Kris. Bill Crawferd did a horrible job voicing it sounds like he read it once and said "Poop on it good enough".
He's replacing Ned Zimmer.Randy Russon is reporting that former member of the Soo Thunderchickens coaching staff Jamie Henderson will be joining the Laker's coaching staff as a video coach and working within hockey operations: http://www.hockeynewsnorth.com/nojhl/jamie-henderson-new-job/#more-13605
Just a reminder that the Laker Hockey Talk show for August will be aired this Wednesday at 8:30am.
Yes, Damon and Bill C said on the show that Cole Hults will be playing one more season of Juniors, probably at Madison of the USHL again. That sounds good to me. That has been a big question mark for quite some time. Damon expects him to have a really good season at Madison. It sounded like this decision was just made in the past couple of weeks, and that Cole himself decided that would be best for him.The last show he mentioned that Cole was coming in. Any change on that Bill ?
