LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

Yes, Damon and Bill C said on the show that Cole Hults will be playing one more season of Juniors, probably at Madison of the USHL again. That sounds good to me. That has been a big question mark for quite some time. Damon expects him to have a really good season at Madison. It sounded like this decision was just made in the past couple of weeks, and that Cole himself decided that would be best for him.

I think that's best for Cole.

I think that's best for Cole.

Good move for C Hults & LSSU. He's a decent player who could develop into a solid 3rd pair D/ 2nd PK type, but he just turned 18 and another year of physical maturity and hockey experience and maturity will be very good for his development.

My My My ... Great Job By AD Dunbar vetting people within your program's inner circle.

https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdin/pr/former-indiana-man-indicted-fraud-charges

This is the guy that was on the candidate search committee, was the "Major Donor" on the renovation of the Norris Center Project, and has had the ear of the LSSC AD for the better part of the last 5 years. Way to go Tom, Kris, and Tom you may want to vet the people you jump into bed with before you hang a banner and tell fans that the projects are a go.

This right here is why the Laker hockey program will never get above a lower mid program. Because those in charge are morons.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

Has anybody found a link to the hockey show from Wednesday? I can't find a link to it on LSSU's website or from Soverign Communications.

Doesn't look like they have a link up yet. Maybe later today?

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

Piecing bit of information together, I believe LSSU recruit Owen Guy will be on the preseason roster in Cedar Rapids.

He was in camp in late July and looked good. Kemptville (CCHL) also put him on their inactive roster.

With this info I am assuming he will at least start the year here but I will update when other information is available

Thank you herbst20. That's my understanding also. From what little I've heard about him, he's fast and has good hands. Looking forward to hearing your impressions of him once the season is underway.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

So no one else is the slight bit concerned that the major "donor" for the "Norris Center Renovation Project" Mr. Whitbey, the kingpin on the committee in the hiring of a new head hockey coach, was indicted by your Federal government for fraud? I mean there is a lot of sticking your head in the sand down there, man, but methinks the ones who did donate to this or the "Back to the Attack" might be entitled to some answers on where that money went, or if it was actually matched. I mean they did hang a banner.

Good thing they have "70 to 75% of that money on hand" ey

Maybe they have blocked you, just as I will be doing.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

Why address it when you can just ignore it, typical LSSU mentality, man.

Like you, I woke up this morning in a free country, complete with the freedom of speech.

I feel like the only way we'll get any answers is if just maybe Randy Russon will use his Journalistic where with all and get to the bottom of this. Only a guy like Russon with the integrity and knowledge of hockey would be able to pen an article, and ask the right questions. Lord knows Grandpa Bill Crawford won't ask Whitten the hard questions. How many years can "we still be young Bill"? PLEASE PLEASE Randy Get to the bottom of this.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

With MN State leaving the WCHA and the two Alaska schools in trouble of losing their programs all together, the future of the WCHA is taking a scary road.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

What is that thing called? Freedom of Information Act or something like that?

Randy could just request to see if Mr. Westby is the Donor. I think he'd also be able to see if he was on the various hiring committees. Might also be able to see if he had a box at LSSU, and if he ever paid for it. Might also be able to see if they have the back to the attack money. May also be able to check into if donations were matched. Kris, Tom, Tom answer these questions.

MY Sources say NOPE. However I am no where near the journalist of Mr. Russon.

I think most fans (and coaches) have been assuming there would be additional juggling of conference alignments over the next few years. If both Alaska schools were to lose their programs soon, that certainly could force the issue earlier than what otherwise might be the case. If Minnesota State does go to the NCHC, that makes Bemidji more of an outlier geographically; I don't think they will be happy about that.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

I think LakerBaker despises the university, the Laker Hockey team and Damon Whitten. He probably wants the hockey program and university to fail and fold.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

I don't think Whitten was ever involved with the Back to the Attack funds.
No he wasn't, but he replaced Jim Roque which is primarily why LakerBaker was trashing him on here his first season behind the Lakers bench.

Laker Baker's weekly rants. He woke up in a free country, Owen Headrick is the best young player in North America, and then sarcastically rips on Whitten and his attempt to turn around the LSSU hockey program. Am I missing anything?

Re: LSSU Lakers 2016 off-season thread

This may shed some more light on the situation.

http://www.kokomotribune.com/news/l...cle_e6abaff3-19e4-5f9b-b541-b2560a6a6415.html

I just want to know where are my donations? Where are my matching funds? Where is the renovation project? Where is the 70-75% of "on Hand Money"? It's fraud. LSSU YOU were swindled. Pleger, Coates, Dunbar I know you read this. WE ALL deserve answers. Stop hiding. Stop ignoring the questions.
