THIS WEEK: The Alaska Anchorage Seawolves return from a weekend off to host Lake Superior State, Feb. 19-20 at the Sullivan Arena for a pair of Western Collegiate Hockey Association games ... the puck is scheduled to drop at 7:07 p.m. AST.

OVERALL: LSSU leads, 8-4-0 AT UAA: Tied, 2-2-0
LAST MEETING: Jan. 17, 2016 (UAA won, 3-1) STREAK: UAA 1
NOTES: This will be the 13th and 14th all-time meetings between the teams …UAA and LSSU met just over a month ago in Michigan with LSSU winning on Jan. 16 (4-2), before the Seawolves won 3-1 on Jan. 17 ... the teams are tied in Anchorage 2-2-0 with neither team sweeping in Anchorage ... UAA last win at home vs. the Lakers was Oct. 31, 2014 (3-2) ... the teams have played in just one overtime game - Nov. 1, 2014 (2-3) ... the teams are tied in the last eight meetings, 4-4.
WCHA STANDINGS: The Seawolves are currently eighth in the WCHA standings with 16 points ... the Lakers are seventh with 18 points ... both teams have played in 22 conference games ... the Seawolves will need to stay in the top 8 of the conference to make the WCHA First Round playoffs, which is March 11-13.
SCOUTING THE LAKERS: The Lakers are coming off of a WCHA split with Bemidji State, 1-2, 3-0, on Feb. 12-13 ... the win on Feb. 13 broke a six-game losing streak for the Lakers ... LSSU, which is coached by former Seawolf assistant captain Damon Whitten, is led by sophomore F JT Henke (7-8–15) and freshmen Gage Torrel (6-8–14) and Mitch Hults (6-8–14) ... dressing between the pipes are sophomore G Gordon Defiel (21 gp, .919sv%, 2.61gaa, 7-11-3) and freshman G Nick Kossoff (12 gp, .923sv%, 2.25gaa, 3-7-1).
SEAWOLF BITES: Prior to a bye weekend over Valentine’s Day weekend, the Seawolves were swept by the Northern Michigan Wildcats, Feb. 5-6 with NMU winning, 3-2 and 5-4 … UAA is 1-5 in the last six games with the last four being decided by one goal … with the sweep, UAA has 16 points and is eighth in the league … with six league games remaining, the Seawolves have already produced more points than last season (12 points) … UAA is 10-15-3 overall and 7-13-2 in conference play … of the three series remaining for the Seawolves, two of them are currently against teams with a .500 win percentage or worse … UAA still has to play league-leader Minnesota State on Feb. 26-27 in Anchorage ... the 3-1 win on Jan. 17 was UAA’s all-time 500th program win … the loss on Feb. 5 was the second time the Seawolves have scored first and failed to win – UAA is 7-2-3 when scoring first … with the UAA win Oct. 9, the Seawolves remain unbeaten in season openers at 11-0-3 ... the last season-opener loss came from Michigan State in 2000 … the loss on Oct. 10, ended a 11-game unbeaten streak in the Classic (8-0-3).
PLAYER NOTES: Individually, the injury-plagued Seawolves are led by senior F Blake Tatchell … Tatchell is tied for No. 10 in the WCHA overall stats with 7-13–20 totals … with the goal on Feb. 6 vs. NMU, Tatchell has produced 20+ points each season as a Seawolf … meanwhile, Tatchell ranks tied for 10th in assists and tied for 16th with six power-play points (0-7–7) … Tatchell needs just one more point to become the 23rd all-time Seawolf player to net 100 career points ... Tatchell also has 69 career assists, currently good for a tie at No. 14 on the all-time list with Lloyd Degelman (1983-86) … one of UAA’s assistant captains, Tatchell has dressed in 136 career games and with a guaranteed 8 games remaining, Tatchell could reach as high as No. 7 on the all-time UAA list ... leading UAA’s goal scoring is sophomore F Tad Kozun with 12 – good for a tie at No. 4 – following an unassisted tally against NMU on Feb. 5 … Kozun also ranks tied for No. 1 in power-play goals (6) … at 12-6—18, Kozun has already passes his point total from his rookie season (6-9–15) ... Leask’s strike was his first of the season, while Duwe picked up his seventh – tied for second among UAA skaters this season ... collecting two helpers on Feb. 6 was sophomore F Anthony Conti ...
