Re: LSSU Laker Hockey
It doesn't matter where they finish because the people on here have blind love and devotion for this administration that is not surprising knowing some of the people up there and where they are strategically located.
If things are going good, like moving up to 8th place in a 11 team league it is the best news and anyone that mentions anything against their buddy and this team, the truth, is ridiculed and singled out.
If things are going bad, like the last few years, or his league reprimand when he filed a "police report" on a official it doesn't matter one bit. It is someone else to blame and the tough questions aren't asked or just ignored by all his buddies up there who pack this forum and the Minister of Information cheerleader on the mic.
Talk to you all in early March when you are figuring out new ways to give your hero praise and unending devotion despite lower division finishes, 1st round playoff exits and more empty seats at the Norris Center. Remember the glory days?
The Truth Is Out There....
-You can't stand Bill Crawford, you think he is too optimistic on the mic, we get it.
-You think Jim Roque is a poor coach who deserves to get fired and you're upset that people say anything remotely positive about him, we get it.
-You think that no matter what the Lakers do, that the light at the end of the tunnel is nothing more than an oncoming train, we get it.
- You feel the need to use average (at best) sarcasm and humor to poke fun at those who actually want to see the Lakers do well, we get it.
Would it kill you to say something new once in a while instead of recycling the same worn out bit?? So some people do have "blind love and devotion" to LSSU, so what? Isn't that what being a fan is all about??? The Lakers may very well finish 8th, but they currently are in position to finish much higher than that with a few good weekends coming up and that is exciting to some laker fans..
Even if they were to finish 8th that would mean 1. they finished higher than they did last season and 2. they would be hosting a first round playoff series for the first time in a long time, so those ARE things to be (somewhat) excited about....This is not to say that Laker fans would be satisfied and wouldn't want better results (especially if they were to bow out in the first round), and it's not to say that most would still want Roque to keep his job but the fact of the matter is that it IS improvement, and encouraging since the roster is freshmen and sophomore in majority...Lakers fans will undoubtedly not be truly satisfied until the Lakers are back contending for CCHA titles and NCAA appearances, but speaking on behalf of myself I will stand by the team and the school until those heights are reached again (no matter how far off in the future that may be)...I will be disgruntled if they take steps backwards but I will also be there to applaud signs of progress, no matter how small they may seem to some...In the words of Confucius: " A trip of a thousand miles begins with a single step"
