There is no choice but to get a new coach if this season goes down in flames .

OK, so if the Lakers fire Roque will all the Truth people (person) go away?
One would think so. Based upon the content of their posts over the past couple of years, what other reason would they have to stay around?

Re: LSSU Hockey 2011-2012

Miami is up 5-1 over Ohio State midway in that game, so even if the Lakers lose tonight they will back into home ice for round 1.

And it sounds like the Lakers have mailed it in again tonight, so it's a question of whether they finish in 7th or 8th place.

Lakers finish 7th and play Alaska at home next weekend. Hopefully the attendance won't be pathetic like last year's home playoff series.

Re: LSSU Hockey 2011-2012

Time to consider DIII???

It's amazing how far a bad coach such as Scott Borek can drive a hockey program so deep into the cellar that it may take a decade or longer to turn it around. Borek was probably the biggest mistake that Lake Superior has ever made in their program. Most Laker hockey fans knew by Borek's second year that before he left he would ruin an exceptional program.

Re: LSSU Hockey 2011-2012

Things could be worse, you could be ohio state and have to go on the road in the first round! Of course I love that, but ya can't help but feel bad for those idiots. Wow, they go from #1 in the nation to this....

And we all know what the second biggest mistake is, even if most of you people up there won't admit it.

Before the apologists get carried away with all the improvement this year, finishing 7th place in a 11 team league, do note that if NCAA rules were being used with ties and not getting the extra point for the shootout, Lake Superior State finishes 9th place and worse than last year because they would have 37 points, Notre Dame 39 and Ohio State 38.

I apologizing for confusing any of you people with the truth. You people can now go back to your defense strategy for the 7th straight year.

Lets see how the rest of the year plays out....a first round loss to Alaska may very well be the end for Roque...

With whom though? Can the Lakers land a Jeff Jackson or Enrico Blasi type coach? If they can't, they might as well keep Roque.

Re: LSSU Hockey 2011-2012

I am afraid if they fire Roque, they might hire somebody worse and it would be Anzalone 2.0 again. I don't want five win seasons and 11th-12th place finishes again. That sucked!

When you consider that those guys get paid at least three times what Roque makes, and that their assistant's salaries and total budgets are more than double LSSU, your chances of landing one of them are not good. Looking at this year's team, they made some nice strides and have a number of talented young players and a goaltender that can carry them too. When WCHA 2.0 convenes after next season, this is a team that will have the ability to contend.

Before you people go into your annual bash Frank Anzalone mode to take all the heat off the current administration, remember when you people up there look at those championship banners they were compliments of Frank Anzalone and his vision, work, and how he loved those kids. You are quick to forget what he did for you little college and village, putting it on the map.

The Truth Is Out There....
TBA

Here is what Frank brought to our little village:

01-02: 8-27-2 (.243)
02-03: 6-28-4 (.211)
03-04: 9-20-7 (.347)
04-05: 9-22-7 (.329)

Re: LSSU Hockey 2011-2012

Seems odd with all the Friday night loses that Roque never tried rotating Murdock into the Friday night line ups. The little Murdock did play he has a 940 save % and a 1.7 goals against and you keep that guy on the bench week after week of Friday night loses . The idea that Kapalka could go pro is off the wall as well. Kapalka needs to get a lot better then what he has shown this year for starters.

In defense of Anzalone. Anzalone did take over a team that was going nowhere and just the fact that Roques best 2 years to date were with Anzalone teams ,shows that Anzalone had the team heading back in the right direction . The problem with Frank was Frank himself .

Re: LSSU Hockey 2011-2012

The Laker's last trip to the Joe was courtesy of Jeff Jaikitis (two huge 2-1 wins at Miami)........recruited by Jim Roque, by the way.

Cheer up TS. You just had two big losses and.............next week is the first round where most schools are frustrated by the students on break and season ticket holders who don't all buy playoff tics. You get to do your poor attendance gig............bonus would be a Laker's loss but I think they will beat Alaska.

You are so predictable.
