I hope Northern goes unbeaten until we meet in Marquette.

Really!
That's surprising to hear considering that if NMU sweeps FSU, NMU would still be one point behind LSSU as LSSU is idle. But if FSU sweeps NMU, FSU will be 8 points ahead of LSSU.
Any LSSU fan that wants their team to stay in the hunt for a top four position in the CCHA should be rooting for NMU this weekend.
Given that Ainsworth didn't play despite the additional injuries to our forwards, it seems like Roque should go ahead and redshirt him. There's only 3 series left in the regular season. If he hasn't played him as a replacement for an injured player by now, I doubt he will play him the rest of the way. With all the injuries the Lakers have they did quite well this weekend. They played three lines and some that should not have dressed but played through the pain.
I have nothing but respect for this team.
I believe Lake State got shafted in this weeks rankings .

The last time they swept anyone was Oct 27-28 at Miami. Their only home sweep was Oct 13-14 against MSU. That's not the type of results that will keep them very high in the rankings.I believe Lake State got shafted in this weeks rankings .

I just looked at the rankings. My thoughts exactly.

For some reason,Ohio State has managed to hold on to 10th and they have not won a game since December30th when they beat Robert Morris and only 2 games in their last 11 and zero in Januaury . Somehow beating the 6th place team in the nation over the weekend and tying the next night should not have been a demotion in the rankings.
Look at it this way. The Lakers are a .500 club in CCHA play. Overall they are 3 games over but have played a pretty weak non-conference schedule. Miami and MSU both started slow but then got better, especially Miami. The Lakers started well, but have been lukewarm for the past few months. Yah, OSU has been in a slump lately, but they are still 3 games over .500 in league play, 6 games over .500 overall. And face it, the big name programs are going to get a little favoritism in the (voted upon) rankings. If we want to be higher in the rankings, we have to win more games, pure and simple. Timing is important also. Winning most of your games later rather than early in the season normally helps in the rankings, although overall wins/losses is also a key; OSU racked up enough wins before the holidays to keep them ranked fairly high, but they can't expect to hold their position (or improve) if they don't start winning again. You're right, Bill. 5 of 6 against a higher ranked opponent is squat. If you want to get rewarded, get the sweep and 6 points.
