Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

2nd time this year I watched NU skate circles around your team, especially once the refs put the whistles away. Have fun getting bounced by a team that has more finishing skills then NU in the playoffs. Probably be the best win you get all year.

You have been so spot on all year Rex. Keep it up. Actually smoking BU was our best win of the season. But you wouldn't know how to beat BU. Nor will you beat BU.
Your team got speed-bagged. Deal with it. Carr and Lowell's D, far superior to your neutered huskies.

Oh rex, such a clown. As far as I see it... outside looking in? 2 against Maine, two against BU. Bye, bye NU. You're the weakest link.

Those grapes are really sour, eh?

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

ugh.. not our year.

Congrats to Lowell.. hockey is a gm of bounces & it doesn't matter that NU skated really well most parts of this gm .. we did not get the bounces when it could have counted.

G'luck to you guys rest of the way. Also, kudos on playing with discipline tonight. Now when you guys get to the Garden.. finish the unfinished business :)

Lots of talk from a fan of a team that just got swept two weekends in a row.

What did those four. NU loses have in common? Superior competition.

Just goes to prove my point that the first Lowell/NU game was nothing more than a trap game that Lowell regrettably fell victim to. Good teams find ways to win games when they have to. NU needed this game to keep any hope of the playoffs alive and they couldn't get it done.

4 point weekend. Fact. Science.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

I think they had 22 coming. It was a fun idea. We met Bruno, the police dog, under the stands. What a cool dog. Talk about absolute adoration for his human.
I believe the final number was 48 furballs. My two included. :)

You're the kind of person that gives NU fans a bad name. But hey keep talking, your predictions so have been spot on.

About the game itself, I wasn't there, but was told that Lowell was on the back foot towards the end of the game, so stealing this one is fantastic to me. As far as UML is concerned, NU is dead now being 8 points behind and Lowell has three games in hand. Now to Providence...

Could've sworn we eliminated them from the playoffs this most recent season. Anyway, we could've won, we choked, gave up a breakaway to lose at home in OT as usual. What, the fourth straight time. We did ourselves in playing undisciplined. Penalties all night. Panic Mode is turned on. Easy summary.

Everyone here needs to simmer down, as if a college hockey sweep will earn you ESPN time or the front page of SI. Just take the wins and losses like a man.

Like a man? you're joking right...rex was talking about how bad lowell was on another board, actually it was BU vs. NU... if he kept his mouth shut, he wouldn't be hearing from me and others. Like a man? Calm down? Haha. he starts a flame fest, and now since your team lost you want mercy for him? I have nothing against NU and its fans. But huskies01 is a dope, and deserves what he is getting.

Man makes a fine point. While we may be arrogant SOBs when Lowell is winning, we are at least smart enough to tone down the rhetoric when they stink, ie last year. Now I would love for NU and UVM to be having seasons like Lowell is this year because the flamefest on these boards gets down right fantastic. It's the only time these days you'll get a game thread to go over 150-200 posts. So with that said, NU and UVM need to stop blowing and put out a capable D1 hockey program. Either that, or kick them out of Hockey East.

I missed the line for the good Koolaid. I don't think you did. Lucky you.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Actually Rex and I have alot more in common then you might think. We both have Super Bowl rings. Though he does out weight me by at least a good 250 lbs. And unlike most Patriot fans up here, I actually like Rex. Anybody that can take the NYJ to back to back AFC Championship while playing ALL road games, including being two quarters from a Superbowl in the first one deserves some respect. Even if he backed in the first time.

As for NU blowing and needing to put together a capable D1 hockey program, pretty sure we have made the Garden 2 out of the last 3 years and have a NCAA tournament appearance in there too. If that is not capable, I do not know what is? (also bottom, UVM made the Frozen Four 3 years ago, UML been there lately? Would not talk poop about that program, first off year since they cancelled the season a few years ago)

NU is all of 3 whole points out of the playoffs. With 10 games to play. They have lost 3 out of their last 4 games by 1 goal, which is more unlucky then bad. Its a bounce of the puck one way or another, like on UML's final goal last night, puck bounced the right way, you got a goal. Late in the third period when Cody skated around your entire team, again, and went with the same move that your guy won it with, the puck did not go it. Happens. Puck bounces another way, its a tie or a win for NU. You blow out us out 4-0 again last night, you may have a point about NU being bad. But, alas, you do not.

Oh, and I was right about conditioning piece, you were dead team skating 2nd half of the game. Like you were trying to skate through sand. Did not catch up with you last night, but like I said earlier, play a team with better finishing then NU, lights out boys.

Enjoy the nice comeback season.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Did your father or mother not teach you how to lose? Your team seems to have played well last night. Your belittling the other team does nothing to enhance your team. If they are playing against such horrible teams they can't be very good either because they haven't beaten them. Ignoring you, who obviously was not taught the the slightest nuance of good manners or good sportsmanship, I do respect NU. They aren't a horrible team. They are young and I think they have potential.

Yes because Derek Arnold is a skilled forward and finished that move twice. Chris Rawlings is a mediocre goalie and got beat twice. Conversely, Carr is top three in the country for a reason - he stops those shots.

Watching you backtrack after the fact is amusing, please let it continue. There's a reason Lowell would be a no. 1 seed if the tournament started today and northeastern would be watching from home: Lowell is a top team and NU is basically garbage.

Hope I cleared that up for you.

More lucky than bad, a bounce here - a bounce there, smoke and mirrors, magic, etc... you truly are a dope. I look at numbers/stats/matchups/records. Rex is a blow hard loser thats all talk, and because of his talk got his team in a situation where they basically don't play for one another... awesome! You forgot to mention another similarity between you and Rex, both of you will be eating snacks on the couch during playoff time.

A compliment from you Rex?!? I will take it! we will enjoy the AWESOME comeback season...thank you. Good luck the rest of the way.

You can read right? "Take the wins AND losses." That means he needs to take it like a man also which he isn't. He's just looking like a clown. I'm criticizing both sides which is pretty easy to tell. Granted, he has asked for it.

Your post was accurate until the last sentence. First off, you haven't made the NCAA tournament since Clinton was President. Second, we already have as many wins in Hockey East as you did last season and we are blowing. Vermont already has as many wins overall as you did last season and they are blowing worse. We are three seasons removed from an NCAA Tournament, Vermont is three seasons removed from a Frozen Four appearance. The amount of fail in your last sentence...

Anyway, Lowell is good as I stated multiple times in the BU-NU thread if you care to look. This bickering should probably end here. The season series is done unless they meet in the HE Tournament.

Maybe I should have added a :p or  so you would have got the context.
