Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

While I'm at it, why aren't power play stats calculated based on the time actually spent with a man advantage? That way a team that scores quickly and efficiently would benefit and/or a team that takes a penalty ten seconds into their powerplay would not be charged as not having scored on a full two minute opportunity.

Its also strange that its impossible to go 100% on a 5 minute major.

I think if you scored at 0:00 of the PP they'd find a way to make that work... I once saw a game where the refs spent a long time pondering that kind of a thing (it was a 2 man situation, IIRC)... if there's time on the board then there's still time on the penalty... even if its a whisker.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Are you counting juniors as underclassmen?
No ... the only upperclassmen last night were seniors Tim Corcoran, Matt Ferreira, David Vallorani and Michael Budd, and juniors Riley Wetmore and Colin Wright. Lowell only has 4 seniors and 3 juniors on the roster.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Just curious, were there many dogs in the crowd last night?

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

That promotion went better than I thought it would, I hope they decide to do it again next season.
I'm a dog lover, so I'm biased, but I thought it sounded really interesting and creative. If they do it again, I think I'd make the trip down no matter who UML is playing.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

I think they had 22 coming. It was a fun idea. We met Bruno, the police dog, under the stands. What a cool dog. Talk about absolute adoration for his human.

I couldn't make it up to Lowell last night, but spent the $8 to watch online. Did you see Bruno drop the puck last night? I love dogs and him having the puck in his mouth then dropping it on the ice was awesome.

Don't forget that Northeastern has the best video feed of all the Hockey East schools http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/northeastern.portal#

It's free and in HD.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

NU layed an egg tonight and UML was able to beat us for the first time this decade. 5 wins in a row against them or whatever it was. UML was due to throw the upset. Happens. Move on, and win the season series again tonight, and Friday night is just another loss against a bad team for us.

You are, once again, cordially invited to deal with it.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Well the feed was hiccuping so I saw celebration for the first 2 goals and then it buffered for the rest of the night. :( I have a crappy internet feed. Listening to Bob it sounded as if they pulled this out of the back end orrifice.

I had some issues as well... though I got to see all the goals

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Just got home from the game, and what an amazing game played by the Riverhawks. What a breakaway goal by Arnold, just sensational. NU was very aggressive in the third period, and OT...they really had me on the edge of my seat.
Congrats to the Riverhawks.

One question I had for Hawks fans. I noticed the Bazin was playing with the first line alot. Normally you will see Wetmore, Val and Arnold. He had Pendeza, Ferreira and Arnold out there on numerous occasions. Has anyone else seen that? Also, Thompson was playing defense?!? I didnt understand that one. No Lyles and Corcoran.

2nd time this year I watched NU skate circles around your team, especially once the refs put the whistles away. Have fun getting bounced by a team that has more finishing skills then NU in the playoffs. Probably be the best win you get all year.

Denial is soooooo sad. Congrats to the Riverhawks (from an MC fan)
