Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

So what your really trying to say is your team is out of shape, and has issues playing on back to back nights matching other teams intensity. Interesting. So all those games in hand you have, may not be a good thing since its going to be lots of games over a short amount of time.

First, our D corps is so far ahead of yours its not even funny. But you are right about Carr and Rawlings, they are not in the same league. Rawlings is Major League compared to Single A short season for Carr.

Of the two goalies, one of them is playing at the highest level he ever will, the other one will a future pro. Here is a hint, Rawlings is the pro.

Keep telling yourself that, it doesn't make it true. NU doesn't have a defensemen that can hold Ruhwedel's jock.

I'm sure Rawlings will have a great ECHL career. Doesn't change the fact that he's not as good as Carr. Book it. Fact. Science.

He goes by the name of Bitetto. And Ruhwedel should be thankful that he gets to share the ice with him. Crystal?

Another nobody on a team full of them. Got it. I'll save this post for the end of the season when Ruhwedel is first team Hockey East and what's his name struggles to make honorable mention. Boom. Truth bomb.

Let's see Minnesota, Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Michigan or Minnesota St., RPI, UConn, freakin' UAH...Rawlings would love to have such a cakewalk OOC schedule.

When I visited the UNH v UML thread things were so much more civilized...:p

Well, it's a comfort knowing that BC, BU, UNH, and Maine are all pushovers now.

Exactly. It's all loser talk. "but but but we beat Notre Dame!!". Yes, and at the same time have been run out if your own conference.

I'm sure the plethora of time they'll have for quiet reflection once they miss the HE playoffs will be at least some consolation.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Unlike a couple of people who think this is going to be a sweep (from both sides) ... I think I'd be shocked if there was a sweep. These two teams are more evenly matched than either side would like to give the other credit for. Rawlings has been outstanding this season, as has Carr, but as noted, against higher end competition (can't really argue that). Both teams are coming off losses, so they're both going to be looking to rebound this weekend.

Initially, from what I saw (and this was before the Vermont game), I had the River Hawks winning on Friday and going down in a close game on Saturday at Matthews. Then again 100% of us Lowell fans had us beating Vermont so who knows.

I expect two very close games this weekend and I think a key piece of this was already discussed, penalties. I watched the game on NESN Friday night. NU absolutely steamrolled BU in the first period but became unglued in the second and third periods. BU final two goals were on the PP and it was the difference in the game. Qualier took a bad misconduct penalty and it couldn't have come at a worse time. If NU take penalities, it could be a long night for them....10 for 39 is not a banner stat.

We'll see how good Lowell's conditioning is over the weekend. Last semester, it was just fine at Maine and with UNH in back-to-back games.

Good to see the sizzlefest at full broil. :D

That "nobody" was on the ice for all three Northeastern goals against UML last month. Coincidentally, Ruhwedel was too.

Wanna take a guess which one had a goal and which one finished -3 that night?

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Don't mistake that for a dismissal of Ruhwedel's skill or the season he's had. In all likelihood, he probably will be HE first team at season's end. The notion that Bitetto is a nobody though is either weak trash talk or evidence of a lack of knowledge of the other players in the conference.

Bitetto is no slouch.

No he's not.

Both teams actually have a good amount of young talent to build around, but NU's next recruiting class might push them up next year. But we still have some games left this year...

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Quick question Riverhawks fans.. (i knew this, but am forgetting now).. which side does Lowell shoot twice?
Is it the Lowell Bank Pavilion side?.. thnks.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Should be a good game tonight. Will be nice to actually have a full lineup. Both teams are underestimated on here.

Re: Lowell vs Northeastern, home and home

Heading downtown now for some pregame suds.

I'm thinking Lowell wins both games big.

6-2 Friday

5-1 Saturday
