Lowell/Boston University (Home and home), 2/22 & 2/23

With Hockey East (specially teams 1-6 so congested), this is a huge weekend for both Lowell (currently 6th with 22 points) and BU (tied for 4th with 24). Lowell has beaten BU already this year, so owns the tiebreaker as of now, winning at the Agganis.

Should be a fun weekend of hockey...

you're welcome for the 4pts

UML should go ahead and start printing the first round programs for a home game. The 4 points we contribute this weekend should put them into a lock on Todd's thread.

Never thought I'd hear those kinds of comments from the BU guys. I know there have been some hard times this season, of course. I was shocked BU got 4th in the BU invitational a week ago.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy for the 4 points but not taking it for granted for a second.

I expect BU to get no less than 1 point this weekend. They gotta keep up this month-long undefeated streak at Agganis (though technically it's also a winless streek and it's only 1 game long). Although the last team to beat BU at home was UML. On second thought maybe we should just root for UML to score early and often that way we don't have to sit through another blown lead from BU. With BU at just 9-5-2 when scoring first, if BU does score first, don't worry, there is still almost a 44% chance UML gets at least 1 point.

another sandbagger

Come on, you know it's their schtick;)

Re: Lowell/Boston University (Home and home), 2/22 & 2/23

I think they should just tell Parker their feelings, and BU can Lowell have the four points without playing. That works for me! :)

I think we'd better let them play the games. We wouldn't want you guys to be rusty for your game against BC next Tuesday. Don't worry, just think of this weekend like a pair of tune-up games.

Re: Lowell/Boston University (Home and home), 2/22 & 2/23

Hrmm.. I thought self deprecation was Lowell's traditional shtick.

Re: Lowell/Boston University (Home and home), 2/22 & 2/23

It's a sign that a team doesn't feel like it'll make the NCAAs for the umpteenth year in a row... Seen them all do it

How quaint that you think BU hockey uses NCAA appearances as a benchmark. (and for the record, they made the tournament last year.)

Wow, I'm like, totally stoked for this weekend.

Then why all the complaining... I'd also go back and re-read... UNH has done it, Maine has done it, and now you are doing it... It's the "we're not as awesome as we usually are and now we're going to lose or deserve to lose all of our games" bit.

But we do actually suck.

This one goes to 11.

As long as the beer across the street from the Agganisis cold, I'm ok.

Any other UMLers making the trip Friday night?

I'm planning on going.. Think I need to get tickets ahead of time? I'm guessing the way BU fans are complaining that there'll be plenty of red seats?
