According to Mike McMahon the Hockey East media day will be held on September 27.

I saw on twitter that the NU team received their HE Championship rings last night.

I was wondering how they compare to what the Hawks received. I don't recall seeing any pictures of those rings.

Josten's has a picture of the 2nd HE championship ring in one of their online catalogs and I grabbed you a screenshot. I couldn't find an image of the first one. I clearly have too much time on my hands. :)

want want want want... so pwetty....

Honestly though, I think that's better than NU's ring... but I've never cared for their recent (last 7-8 years) logo set. The two trophies are a nice touch, as are the red and blue "gems" (in case the stones in question are fake... I'm assuming Lowell doesn't entirely break the budget on rings... because remembering what class rings cost and knowing gold is more these days.... $$$$$$).

mr les has both of them and I didn't even know he got the second one! Who would have thunk it would be so hohum for #2. I saw #1

Former assistant director of hockey operations Ben Bransfield is now the director of hockey operations for Colorado College.

CC adds new director of hockey operations

Ben Bransfield is the new Colorado College director of hockey operations after Tigers alum Chris Kawano left the National Collegiate Hockey Conference program recently to teach English in China.

The Newburyport, Mass., native has two years' experience working as the UMass-Lowell assistant director of hockey operations. He began work at CC this week.

"(Former CC and UMass-Lowell assistant) Jason Lammers had nothing but good things to say from his time working with him in Lowell," Tigers coach Mike Haviland said.

The position's duties include game video production, managing program expenses, booking travel and organizing study tables for the players. The job was created about two years ago when Haviland took over the program.

The NCAA will be making a stop at Lowell sometime this month to review where the school stands in their transition to DI. Hopefully we get the approval needed and then we'll be officially able to compete in tournaments starting next season in all sports.

FYI Lowell fans - some changes to the schedule have been posted: Friday 1/6/17 game @ UNH is now at 6PM, Friday 1/27/17 game vs. NU is now at 6PM, Senior Night on Friday 2/24/17 now has an 8:30PM start time and the game @ BC that was scheduled for Saturday 2/25 is now on Thursday 2/23

I assume those 6pm games are now those early tv games for whatever network it was last year that started putting out games. Switching a Saturday game to a Thursday stinks.
