Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Bill, this is your thread ...is there anyway you can block Truth Squid??

He/she complains about cheer-leading, yet he/she is the biggest Anzalone apologist in the world.

Anzalone is so yesterday.

Click on the user CP tab on the upper left of the screen. Then on the new page you'll find a "Buddy List / Ignore List" on a column on the left hand side. If you click on that it will allow you to block certain users.

I've been living Truth Squad free for awhile now. It is pretty nice.

I always considered myself an Anzalone fan until I read that letter he wrote after Bud Cooper's death.

SmartAxe- I'm headed up to the Soo for a week tomorrow, you?

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

I don't know who is worse? Truth Squad or BootWaltKyle at the NMU threads? I agree Anzalone is so yesterday and will never be back at LSSU. Roque has done a great job this year. RIght now he's probably the front runner for CCHA Coach of the Year.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

A friend of mine told me about this website and a way to discuss Laker hockey. I saw the Lakers last month against Union at the RPI tournament and while they didn't play very well that night it is great to see them in 5th place heading into the Christmas break. I hope the great hockey continues through the new year, the schedule is pretty challenging, but they are in good position for a possible top half finish in the standing. Keep up the great work to the boys and the coaching staff.

I have only seen a couple of games this year and there has been lots of comments about the new announcers on here. I like the home games a lot better because Mike Ellis does a great job with the broadcast and calls it like he sees it. I see the term cheerleader on here with Paul VanWaggoner. While listening to him he is definately a "homer" but is doing ok. Would like him to criticize the Lakers maybe once this year and he says "we" way too often. He is a bit over the top with goal calls for the Lakers with his screeches and you wouldn't know the other team scored. But if that is what LSSU wants and was looking for who am I to say. Just my two cents since I say that the topic of conversation on here.

Keep it up Lakers and I look forward to more great hockey in 2010. Merry Christmas to Lakers fans back in the Soo and across the country. Great to see the program back on track.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Welcome to the board Ny Foghorn and i hope every one has a Merry Christmas as well.

The Lakers were fireing on all cylinders before the break and hopefully they can pick right up where they left off when they come back after the Holliday break.

Look for Nick McParland to start notching some points the second half.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Happy Holiday's to you Neil Diamond and all Laker fans.

You must have me mixed up with the new broadcaster or another member of this form. You and other people have been apologizing for 10th place finishes for the last few years, the lack of production on the ice, lack of fans in the seats, and this year a lack of professionalism on air have made you a very bitter bunch.

I am so very sorry that a differing opinion and bringing up the TRUTH bothers you so much. You may call it apologizing I call it setting the record straight. You people will believe anything up there!

The Truth Is Out There

It's not that your opinion is different, it's that it is wrong, and it's wrong because it is based solely on the fact you are a major league Anzalone apologist.

If the Lakers make it to the Frozen Four this year, and win in the championship game by a 3-1 score, you'll come on here and complain that Frank would have won the game 6-1. And, of course, we would all be dumb, blind sheep because we would not call for the head of Coach Roque.

Be that as it may, have a great Holiday, Truth Squid. I'm sure winter isn't as pretty in Quad City as it was in Johnstown, but enjoy nonetheless.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Truth, have a Merry Christmas and to all Laker fans the same.Let us hope the second half of the season starts as well as the first half ended. All we can ask of the team is to give us 60 minutes of hockey every game and win or lose you gave us your best for the entire game.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

NEIL DIAMOND!!!

I truly believe the Lakers will get to the Final Four this year and that everything is fine and dandy with the state of Laker hockey. Lets see what this team can do in the second half and see if I'm still singing the praises of this team and coach like I have been. Heck I would give cheer captain VanWaggonor a run for his money with my rah rah's.

And you are correct once again Neil Diamond. It wasn't Frank Anzalone who put your little town and college on the map. It was the hard-working kids that played for him.

The Truth Is Out There

Merry Christmas, Truth Squad. It's great to hear your positive spirits!! :)

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Truth,a lot of us have not been happy with the level of play the lakers have been at the last couple years but we are now seeing some light with the new recruits coming in and the level of play this year seems to have taken a new turn and we are happy with this latest development. Truth, let us allow the season to play out and see where the lakers end up and than we can discuss what needs to be done. Truth, just sit tight and see what happens this year.

Apparently Truth is not happy in Quad City. Lot of anger and unhappiness in those posts.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Careful Foghorn if you are critical of anything on here the herd that follow Laker hockey on this forum will call you names, change what you say in a way that doesn't fool anyone, and block you. They do not like their facade of Laker hockey ruined by the truth or any critique. Or just listen to a radio broadcast and you will get the same thing.

Keep the positive posts up foghorn, look at everything coming up roses, and you too can be a leader on this forum, possibly even become broadcaster or maybe coach. Obviously it doesn't take a whole lot to be all but one of those things. So predictable!

The Truth Is Out There....

Thanks for the advice Truth Squad but aren't you going a bit overboard with everything? I love Laker hockey and want them to do well. It seems you desire that the team not do well to validate your point. I don't see any other posts by you on here so I can only go by this one and you seem awful angry with an ax to grind.

The Lakers are in 5th place in a tough conference. They have hit hard times the last few years and I agree with the other post that said they are heading in the right direction. I saw both games at the RPI tourney and they didn't look great, but didn't look bad as well.

As far as my comment about the new broadcaster that is just my taste and my opinion. I loved the way Crawford would be fair, but also critical at the same time. I think an announcer should be non-biased to a point, but still get excited, but not so over the top as the current guy. I never met the man and maybe in time I will get used to him. My biggest complaints are the high pitched shrills any time the Lakers get the puck near the net, the lack of emotion when the other team scores and maybe less jokes and more serious discussion, especially when he has the color guy Mike Ellis there. Ellis needs to talk more because he does add a lot to the broadcast. Crawford and him would have been really good!

Just my opinion and what I am saying is not the gospel truth, just my opinion, on a forum that allows me to do so.

Go Lakers!

Good post. Honestly I am more optmistic this year than at any time since Jim took over the program. Not only is the team playing well but it seems that the recruiting has also picked up. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed but I have a feeling that this is going to be a good year.

Truth Squad has recently taken up the habit of deleting his/her posts soon after they are submitted, presumably so that no one can come back and quote from them later on.

That's interesting. Seems to me he could save himself alot of time by just not posting in the first place.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Happy New Year and best wishes to all in Laker Land!

Here's wishing for a successful second half, a return trip to the Joe and renewed pride for Laker Hockey!!!!!

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Happy New year everyone.

Does anyone know if a broadcast of any kind will be available for the Robert Morris games? Have had no luck getting the Laker radio broadcasts outside the Soo area this season. (last year it was reliable) No B2 broadcast is listed but the LSSU press release says it will be on B2. Can anyone help with this?
