Maybe some Oswego fans, dare I say, only give a crap about Oswego.

Re: P'burgh visits the So Tier

Now that the SUNYAC has the odd-team-out scheduling challenge, and as long as the Cards have to make a visit to Cortland once a season, why not combine that trip with an Elmira (~40 minutes away) or Hobart or Utica game? rather than combine it with the OSU contest. Oswego isn't near the trek for a single game, and perhaps now that Ceglarski bad blood is gone, Emery might be more inclined?

It's called travel partners. Which makes the conference schedule so much easier and fairer. Except for poor Morrisville.

I'll be covering the Adrian/Oswego game. I'll try to get out of work early enough to have a beer beforehand.

Just off the top of my head, I would think that the travel partner scheme is hard to mix in with one team that doesn't have a partner. Your schedule used to be quite logical, but now it's a little muddy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is actually easier for Morrisville because...

1. Since they don't have a 'travel partner', they do not have a weekend where they would have to play this travel partner and only have one sunyac game that particular weekend.

2. Since they do not have a 'travel partner', but everyone else does...when they travel to other teams and other teams travel to morrisville, they are guaranteed to get two games in that weekend, where as other teams when they travel to Morrisville, they are only getting one game in that weekend. Therefore, sunyac teams are traveling to one game that weekend or have to try to find a NC game to fill in that weekend.

I think it's still logical, especially financially. Imagine if Plattsburgh had to make two seperate trips out west to Fredonia and Buff State. I'm sure that's a hard enough trip to make once a year, imagine doing it twice.

I'm planning on catching Oswego/Adrian with the men's hockey team reporter for the Oswegian (Mike Kraft) and my roommate from Geneseo last year (who is Mike's brother.) So that car is 2 Geneseo, 1 Oswego.

I'm not talking about the logic for having such a schedule, its just that the old Schedule would use three weekends to get through all the pairings once, and then a travel partner weekend to end the first semester, and then a break and then another trip through the same cycle with the sites reversed. Now it's a little harder to see the pattern for those of us who are peripherally interested. Cost wise, it makes a lot of sense. Except for the Hamilton/Amherst pairing in the interlock, the logic is exactly the same there.

The only problem i have is I might have others traveling with me and I live almost 3 hours east of Elmira along Rt 17 in Sullivan County. Was originally planning on getting up there (Oswego) Friday night and coming right back home after that game...I really do not think I can plan on getting a place to stay...I'd rather not do all the driving...I know poor excuse :o

If I can though...I would not mind seeing the Plattsburgh/Elmira game

Weather permitting

Weather permitting

I'll be in Oswego with RonT if the weather cooperates on Friday, and will definitely be at the Domes at 4:00 on Saturday. Visitors ... stop down behind the P'burgh bench to say hello (if we're allowed to sit there). I'm the one in the orange or yellow sweatshirt.

Re: "Jan. 8-9th: The Ultimate Hockey Weekend" Adrian @ Oswego, Plattsburgh @ Elmira

I know its still a little ways away and I believe every team has games before these two but I wanted to try and start getting a Roll Call assembled for who is planning on attending either ends or both of these two games that weekend.

Jabber811 and myself are currently trying to organize a USCHO Meet and Greet at Jabber's bar, Greene's Ale House on Friday night before the Adrian/Oswego game. (aka..the best bar in Oswego)

Friday Night is Labatt Hockey Night at Greene's.

$1.75 blue bottles and drafts. $6 pitchers, NHL Center Ice package.

Usually Jabber comes up with some great items in the kitchen for the weekends too so maybe he'll chime in on what plans are for that once the date gets closer. Best wings in town (IMHO) and good food. Great Bar and Grille. Hope to see some people there.

So I guess lets start it off with who is planning on attending and if so would you be up for meeting up at the bar around 5 or so before the Adrian/Oswego game?

Attending:

1.PrezdeJohnson09 (Oswego) Both games
2.Jabber811 (Oswego)
3.Pioneerfan11 (Utica) Adrian/Oswego game
4.CavemanRC (Stevens Point) Adrian/Oswego game
5.CardsRuletheBurgh (Plattsburgh) Both Games
6.Ozz (Oswego) Adrian/Oswego game...maybe both
7.nysportsfan29 (Oswego) Adrian/Oswego game
8.JMD9 (Oswego) Adrian/Oswego game

Please chime in and let me know so we can try and get something organized and also put some names to faces!

I'll be in Oswego for the game.

We are bringing a carload down to the Adrian-Oswego game for sure. Going to try & talk the gang into making it to both games.

Is it official? Which bar are we meeting at prior to the game.....and maybe after too?

Prez,
My GPS is locked in to Oswego NY, and ETA is Thursday nite ...."weather permitting". Other USCHO members that I expect to be there to support the Bulldogs will include Seaturtle, LaPuck, Holy Friggers, and Oh Line. The 'Meet and Greet' is a great idea..... I'll definitely be there to test the wings, and have a beverage with friends, and forum fans before the big game.
Heading home right after the game, so will miss the Adrian post game victory celebration;) as well as the second half of your "Ultimate Hockey Weekend", however I'll follow online with great interest.

Enjoy the Holiday Season !

Every game for the past 10+ years in the same section (except when RIT was in town and the seats were reserved). The prior 10 years we sat directly opposite the visitors' bench.
