It's Primelink Week

Re: It's Primelink Week

Question about Stafford --
Noticed that the goal judge (nice that you have them!) raised a paddle when the puck went in. Is this because with the main scoreboard on the fritz, the goal lights don't work, either??

Correct, the goal lights are tied into the main scoreboard.... for 2 weeks in a row the company that Plattsburgh bought the scoreboards from has been there working on trying to fix the problem... I say replace the things!!!

Re: It's Primelink Week

Anyone know of tickets available for the final Primelink game b/t Norwich and Plattsburgh tomorrow at 7PM. I will be in P-burg and want to see this! Might need 3 tickets. Didn't look too packed tonight for either game. Anyone know my chances of getting in at the door?

Worse case would be SRO's, but as this is a holiday weekend, the likelihood of 100% of the season ticket holders showing up is next to zero, as some would put family before hockey (silly folks), just wait for the game to start, scope out three adjacent empty seats and go for it - they won't kick you out, you will only have to move.

Did you plug it in?

Re: It's Primelink Week

The first round of PrimeLink action had some decent hockey. Norwich was definitely on their game; and even though they wound up shutting down Middlebury I think both teams will be the ones to beat tomorrow - http://www.therobbrennan.com/journa...iddlebury-in-primelink-great-northern-sh.html

Plattsburgh had an absolutely atrocious first period. Yes, they had some great opportunities. But how can an opponent turn eight shots on goal into three goals? That was god awful. Thankfully they were able to pull it together and turn things around. Norwich will definitely be the team to beat, but Plattsburgh has a chance...depending on which team shows up for tomorrow's game. This season, the only consistent thing Plattsburgh has managed to do is to be inconsistent. I'm glad to see we're finally at a .500 winning percentage - and I am hoping things continue improving for the red and white.

Having said that, once the Cardinals shook off that first period nonsense they really began to settle in and get it done. Great job guys; I'll be looking forward to tomorrow night's game - http://www.therobbrennan.com/journa...s-7-4-assault-on-st-johns-in-primelink-g.html

Re: It's Primelink Week

Leis was definitely out of position for 2 of those first 3 shots, and one could argue that he would have saved them if he'd been in position, but all 3 of them should have been dealt with by the Defense...

I beleive it was the first goal that went 5-hole and he definately should have had, but the third goal he made 2 or 3 saves and the Defense was nowhere to be found..... worst part of that goal was that they were on the PP and still couldn't pick the guy up who took 3 or 4 shots to finally score.

Re: It's Primelink Week

I know questions were raised about the "quality" of the online feed last night. During the 2nd intermission I was able to get a hold of one of the broadcasters and told him what was going on. After the game he came down and told me back at the station they forgot to push the stop button on the commercial sound. Minor setback and todays broadcasts, just like the past 3 this year, should be just fine. He did apologize for the mistake but they had no idea, up in the booth or back in the station, until I made him aware. If something goes wrong again today, post it on here and I will try and get it corrected asap!

So no one back at the ranch was monitoring the show? A lost opportunity to double their audience.......

There is no "back at the shop" its all done here. All the do is put an ethernet cable into the laptop and game on. All of this complaining really??? Its free live video coverage of some great hockey. Turn it on mute and listen to the audio of someone else and watch it if it bothers u that much.

Re: It's Primelink Week

I'm surprised it bothers you that little.....lighten up, Francis, monitoring a feed is SOP......

I assume that the announcers on the video feed are students, but jeezum crow are they brutal. All tournament long they have proven to be poorly prepared. Don't they check the pronunciation of the players' names,(on the rare occasions they use them)? I would hope that they have a faculty advisor that will critique them and help them become better. And no, I don't expect them to be a Ducky or a George Como, but they should aspire to be as good as the Oswego group.

Re: It's Primelink Week

They are just students and not professionals. Let's not be too hard on them. We did get to see the game and didn't have to rely solely on the play by play. I was disappointed that the first 5 or so minutes of the third period of the Midd-SJU they cut off. The producer must have forgot to stop airing the between period public service announcements.
