If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

I bet JDubbs would believe it if John Marruicci's ghost told him the sun burns brightest in Minnesota.

Speaking of, how awesome would a Minnesota version of "A Christmas Carol" be? JDubbs is visited by the Ghosts of John Marriucci, Herb Brooks and Gary Tinsley. That would be must see TV.

No, no, no..... You got it wrong.

Coach of seasons past would be John Mariucci, coach of seasons present would be Don Lucia, and coach of seasons future would be whomever we want because we can lure your coach away at any time ;)

Yep, that's my favorite excuse. I went to Tampa with a large group of people (15 of us). Not one of us went to school at the U of M. The TV contract angle I can certainly see, but think that also gets back to the general point that it's sad that an awesome, rad program like BC that everyone should "envy" has so few fans and so few interested in it that a TV contract earlier was unfeasible.

Pure sadness.

This is my favorite post on USCHO of all time. How much did I need to pay USCHO to make this entire thing my signature?

Wow. I can't believe he kept this going for so long into the day. He's pretty wound up.

Let's see if we can get him banned again!

Unless your coach is Dean Blais.

If we paid him enough we certainly could.

Anybody could land him if they paid enough... the point I'm saying is the amount of $ it would take to get hiim away from BC and to Mariucci the U of MN would never pay, it'd be way too high.

I don't know about that. I believe Lucia is the highest paid coach in college hockey. I'm not sure if BC could match what uMN could offer. And nowhere (outside of maybe North Dakota) is the spotlight brighter.

If UMN really wanted him, I think they could steal him. Only thing I think would prevent them from doing so is the fact that there are other great options out there (even on our own staff) that would be cheaper. And he isn't a Minnesota guy. Some people wouldn't like that.

I bet BC fans would be full of envy if York went to Minnesota.
