Re: I Think I'll Go For A Walk - Death Pool Thread

"Sam the Record Man" Sniderman, 92. :(

Spending hours browsing through the four floors of dusty racks of LPs and 33's in the Sam the Record Man flagship store at Yonge and Gould was nirvana for a Toronto teen growing up in the 60s and 70s. Buying and downloading songs just isn't the same.

In addition to selling the latest Beatles or Stones release, he did more than anyone to promote Canadian artists.

It looks like no one mentioned the baby panda a couple of days ago, or is that only front page news here in DC?

I agree. But your comment about "promoting Canadian artists" awakened a long distant memory. I refer to a bit by Bruno Gerussi on CBC announcing the formation of a special Prime Minister's blue ribbon commission to investigate the problem of Canadian talent heading south. The commission will be headed by Lorne Greene!

Not dead yet but Bonnie Franklin, who played the mother in 70s sitcom "One Day at a Time" has pancreatic cancer. :(

And he did live 36 years after the death of Spider Sabich.;)

Oooh, that's cold! :D

We can also "blame" him for the Osmonds.

The only Andy Williams clips I can find from the Simpsons are in Spanish... :(

That SNL skit with footage of skiiers wiping out after a gun shot was in awful taste--and very funny.

Andy's rendition of "Battle Hymn of the Republic" at Bobby's funeral was unforgettable.

Chief Inspector Dreyfus is gone. :(

He lived a good life, despite the best efforts of Clouseau

Herbert Lom, the versatile Czech-born actor who could play Napoleon Bonaparte or a witch hunter with equal aplomb but who was perhaps best known as Peter Sellers’s frustrated boss in the “Pink Panther” franchise, died on Thursday at his home in London. He was 95.
