Re: I Think I'll Go For A Walk - Death Pool Thread

We had 40 mins, but my high school made up for it with nasty cafeteria food, so it was pretty much always "bring your own, or buy at your own risk." Ah, the joys of Catholic school. :p

We had 40 minutes way back when. But i brought my own and usually gave it away (mom was a horrible cook). I actually liked the food freshman year at college far better than most of what i got at home. But she was an incredible athlete and a great mom.

Is there even any cooking that goes into a bag lunch? :p
Throw some turkey and ham on a piece of bread, put some 'tater chips in a baggie, toss in an apple and a twinkie and call it good.

Getting this thread back on topic, this is truly sad for Neshek and his wife and family. It certainly put a damper on the A's winning the West.

Now to the Sharpton discussion:

I had 40 minutes and usually brought lunch from home. When I did buy lunch it was either the usual cafeteria fare or a quick trip to the local restaurant. Either way, it was burger, fries and gravy, pizza, mac and cheese. Somehow, when I applied to the PD at age 19 I was 6'2" and a rail-thin 160 pounds.

Couldn't have had anything to do with spending most of my non-class time playing sports, instead of sitting in front of a computer or video gaming console like today's kids (athletes excluded)

I had to suffer through chopped liver, sardines, tuna surprise, etc. My dog would not touch most of what she prepared. But she could hit 90% from the foul line in basketball and there was no fast pitch softballer out there who could strike her out.:)

How did you not get an auto DQ for being too skinny? Aren't cops supposed to, you know, command an air of authority?

Re: I Think I'll Go For A Walk - Death Pool Thread

Hell, I walked away from HS in 1999, but if memory serves me, I'm pretty sure our lunch period was at least a half hour, maybe even 45 minutes. If Big Man on Campus is still hungry, maybe he needs to stop putting the moves on Mary Jane Rottencrotch the cheerleader, and go back thru the line.

Yeah, for Chr*st's sake, we can't let that kid chose what he wants. You and Mooshelle know much more about what he should be allowed to eat and when and in what portions that I feel guilty for even suggesting the boy make his own choices. For sure, Mooshelle will insist Mary Jane gets free birth control. Next up: free motel rooms.

Who needs motel rooms, clear out some old science storage rooms, throw in some mattresses and a box of rubbers and call it good.

That won't cut it. If rich kids can afford motel rooms, then the government's gotta provide 'em for the kids who can't.

And in the context of "fair share," maybe Washington can provide some hook ups for the nerdy kids.

Minimum weight requirement in 1973 was 160. By the time I left the police college I was at about 185 and ready to rid the city of crime and evil! :D

Re: I Think I'll Go For A Walk - Death Pool Thread

We had five lunch periods at about 20 minutes a piece. "A Lunch" started at 10:30ish.

That sounds familiar. It was a very big deal when they installed a milk shake machine that delivered a shake pretty much like Wendy's frosty. And Wednesday was a very big day, because they had fries. One stupid day a week.

Re: I Think I'll Go For A Walk - Death Pool Thread

We could have a burger and fries from the grill line every day of the week. Problem was, most kids thought the burgers were TERRIBLE. I never minded. Add some ketchup, mustard, a few fries, and you were golden.

Backrooms, alleys, trusty woods.

They probably figured they could fatten him up with a few bull sessions down at the local donut shop.

Isn't this thread suppose to be about dead people??
