How about a baker's dozen, Buckentine? Minnesota at Michigan Tech, November 19-20

Re: How about a baker's dozen, Buckentine? Minnesota at Michigan Tech, November 19-20

I'll declare that i'm glad i'm not going to houghton because I'll have more fun going to the joe nichols concert with a lady friend and killing deer the rest of the weekend. How's that for a declaration?

Have a good time. I'll be at the opera in Detroit myself. With my lady friend, who is paying for the tickets.

Well, cheers to you. I don't think I could sit through 2 minutes of an opera, but I hope you enjoy it.

I just hope that I am somewhat coherent Saturday morning when I go hunting, concerts at that bar get a little out of control.

Sure you could. The reason Opera has survived is because of how beautiful and emotional the music is. Here's a couple.
Also you have to have a little context. Nessun Dorma, ( no one sleeps) is about the victory of the good guy over the evil princess who has decreed that no one will sleep in the kingdom in order to discover the princes name. So this is a song of victory. This is one of the most difficult arias for a man to sing well, especially at the end.

The second is sung by my favorite opera singer, teresa stratas. It is a standard audition song and is really great. (However i'm somewhat prejudiced here. My daughter is a lyric soprano.)Teresa also sings a song from Kurt Weill. He wrote quite a few songs you know, including mack the knife, from the three penny opera. A broadway show, or if you will an operetta. There are so many beautiful songs from opera it's very hard to pick two but this is the flavor of what you get when you go. The subtitles are most often put up above the stage.

That went so far over my head, it looked like a 747 heading for Cancun. That kind of thing is so far off my radar, I wouldn't have a clue what was going on if I was watching it. I can do sports, concerts and comedy, but any kind of plays, musicals or operas just aren't my thing. Besides, that music has no twang.

you have to listen with your heart and not your ears, otherwise it's the same as country. love lost, love found, hurt, etc.

Is that anatomically possible?

Besides, I like country songs about drinking and just generally living in the country. I usually skip over the sappy love song ones.

You guys don't listen to happy country music, like "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off", "Alcohol" or "Hicktown". They don't fall into that sterotype at all.

Re: How about a baker's dozen, Buckentine? Minnesota at Michigan Tech, November 19-20

**** straight. At least someone agrees.

edit: any guesses on how much boob I'll see tomorrow night during Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off?

less than after the saints game
