Things change.

Boy, you do an awful lot of name calling for someone older than 12! :p

So you know what the best part about this was?

Nick, who has an answer for everything, had no answer to this. As if calling people nitwitted hillbillies over an anonymous forum wasn't passive enough, he ups the ante! So instead, every couple days he just neg reps all my posts....mostly with the explanation of "." ....except for this one, which had the even more pre-adolescent explanation of "Die in a fire" !!

It's way too cute! My wife works with high risk 7th graders, and they like to tell people they don't like to "Die in a hole". But, I mean....different generation, you know? It's hard to keep up with todays popular lingo.

However, I AM quite flattered over the fact that we haven't bantered in over a week, and yet you're still this pre-occupied with me. :) Whatever gives you that feeling of empowerment, dude.

In all fairness to Nick, most of this started when I had the audacity to say GMs might be in contact with their draft prospects over the summer and ask them if they're ready to sign or not, so I am a nitwitted hillbilly who should go die in a fire

You should be careful passing off totally false things as facts on this board. You can ask Clark-Hislop-Cocks about that one.

Re: Hockey East 2010-2011

Digressing from all the purse swinging that's going on.

Your thoughts please:

Do the recent events at BC and BU change anyone's early (very early) predictions for next year? For me, BC's position doesn't change. There will be some games missed, but the Eagles are SO deep, can't see that train being derailed.

As for BU, some have said this is addition by subtraction. Does it change where you think they'll finish?

Last, someone raised the possibility of transfers to other HE teams (Vinny S.would add some nice speed to Merrimack ;) ) Name some of the intra-league transfers that you remember:

Brendan Walsh, BU - Maine
Ryan Codiero - UNH to 'Mack (followed Serino)
Greg Lauze - 'Mack to BC

Others?

BC: Until we know how long the suspensions are, it's tough to give a definitive answer. But even if all three players were kicked off the team, which seems highly unlikely, I wouldn't drop them from first. It might close the gap between them and Maine a little, but I think they're the top team heading into the season no matter what.

BU: Similarly, it's tough to say until we know how long Trivino's suspended for and until we find out who the mystery suspension is. I think BU will definitely work harder and be more focused next year given everything that happened this season and after the season. But that doesn't diminish the fact that a top-line winger is off the team and the top-line center is gonna be suspended. Before all this came out, I had BU 3rd or 4th. Now, I'm probably leaning more toward the 5-7 range.

Re: Hockey East 2010-2011

I seem to remember UNH being hit with a penalty for recruiting. Did they receive a reduction in scholarships? If not, I remember them not being allowed to speak to certain recruits. Did this hurt them with the kids coming in for Sept 2010?

UNH won't be allowed to sign any of the players they contacted to National Letters of Intent. There were a couple other minor things, and a couple years self-imposed probation. Full story here, if you're interested:

Hopefully, Coaches Borek and Lassonde know how to use their e-mail software now

Nick, who has an answer for everything, had no answer to this.

Last I checked, genius, you didn't even ask a question. Where I come from (ie - a place where kissing your sister, drinking moonshine, watching NASCAR, and neglecting all aspects of personal hygiene for the majority of your life isn't considered acceptable), you know... you usually need to ask a question if you want an answer. Not in the part of your own post that you quoted nor the rest of that post did you even ask a single question.

he just neg reps all my posts....mostly with the explanation of "." ....except for this one, which had the even more pre-adolescent explanation of "Die in a fire" !!

It's way too cute! My wife works with high risk 7th graders, and they like to tell people they don't like to "Die in a hole".

I don't know where you are getting your information (maybe from the same person that taught you English?), but you're terribly mistaken if you think I'm leaving the neg reps that have told numerous people to "die in a fire." I'm not going to expect an apology (Clark-Hislop-Cocks has shown us that bitter hillbillies have an aversion to apologizing), I just want you to know that while you took a guess at who it might be, since you don't have extra, you might not want to throw around accusations that are completely false around here without proof to back it up. I'm sure someone without an avatar has extra and has received the same neg rep (as the BU thread mentions some people also getting it) and the perpetrator will be outed.

I hope your hillbilly wife thinks you throwing around baseless accusations is cute. Is she also your sister?

However, I AM quite flattered over the fact that we haven't bantered in over a week, and yet you're still this pre-occupied with me. :) Whatever gives you that feeling of empowerment, dude.

You know, it's funny. Here the thread was getting back on track, our discussion had essentially ended on 4/28 when I chose not to respond to you so that you could go on living in your little hillbilly dream world. And yet, here you are on 5/8 looking for an answer in which there was no question and then to throw out an accusation of me telling you to "die in a fire" and yet you think I am pre-occupied with you. Sure thing pal. That would make sense to someone that thinks it is "fairly realistic" that "NHL teams could rape and pillage" BC's defense this summer. Have another swig of moonshine!

As far as next season. Saponari will have to red shirt for a year! I agree he would add great speed, but that great speed in the NCAA will have to be put on hold for a season

A kid that high in the draft is not going to Merrimack. Decosta will be gone by that time and he needs to be on a team where he can put up points for leevrage.
