Hobart Statesmen Hockey 2024-2025 Reigning D3 Back to Back Champions

Believe Norwich was Hobart’s last non-win. Cadets have opened up a mini-hot streak last 2 weeks, but against some of the teams towards the bottom of the standings. Now they face Goliath. Ellsworth probably has the best record against Hobart over the last six years than anyone. We’ll see how they fare.

Looking forward to the Cadets coming to Cooler Country. Looks like the Vermont boys have been picking up their game of late . The HWS students are back on campus and it might not be Kreitzberg , but I think The Cooler and the Statesmen fans are ready for some intense action.

Checking the season stats , Hobart slips to #2 in scoring nationally at 4.65 GPG, and our 2 D3 leading Goaltenders are steady at 1.0 GAA yielding a net of 3.65 per game. That said , the schedule is less tough than in the past as the NEHC is not as strong this season. So, the journey to a three peat will get way more bumpy at the NEHC and NCAA tourneys. Hopefully the boys stay hungry . GOBART!

I would say beaver is actually slipping up he had a 0.99 GAA last year he needs to get back into the groove and lock in. In all seriousness how in gods green earth is that kid not d1? Career 0.959 at the d3 level get outta here Hobart cant be THAT rich to keep him away from those d1 juggernauts aint all that money for the lax budget anyway?

So sad that Beaver has slipped so much, he's had to endure splitting game starts with Goyer. Honestly, I figured Beaver would be gone to a D1 program like the 2 last year, but no, I really think he wants to finish out at Hobart because of the respect for Coach Taylor and his team. They kinda embrace THE COOLER , although some alums are looking at an upgrade, although current $400 MM Capital campaign priority is focused on a science building and dorm upgrades . The D1 Lax program does get more $$, but it is disappointing at the D1 level compared to glory days of the 70s-90s with so many Championships. I think Hobart Hockey IS Coach Taylor and he 62 now but still works his ass off recruiting and coaching and is the ultimate gentlemen. There was a rumor that Clarkson might like to steal him since he is a Canton native but my intelligence on things like this is second and third hand. As far as three peats my money is on the Eagles to disrupt and Hobart to win.

Congrats to Albertus Magnus on the 3-2 OT win tonight. the streak is over but we'll start another one tomorrow. Hobart scores what seemed to be a killer goal with 7 seconds left in regulation. It seemed destined that the Statesmen would finish the game, but Albertus was tough and scored the winner. Very exciting game. The Statesmen need a lot more offense tomorrow and Maverick needs to shut em down.

Albertus Magnus' goalie made a spectacular save just before they scored the game winner.

Hobart takes care of business last night beating Albertus Magnus 4-2. Tip of the hat to the Falcons for a tough two games. Hobart needed that to remind them how much losing sucks. Better now than in the playoffs.

Two more Cooler wins this weekend over Southern Maine and another 20+ win season in the books for Coach Taylor.

Artem Buzoverya ,one of the 2X Hobart Natty Hero's, now playing his Grad year at D1 Bentley, scored his fifth goal of the season against Canisius and looks like he has made a significant contribution to the Falcons.

The Statesmen sweep the weekend against NEC, and travel to Babson to end the regular season this weekend. Luke Aquaro is starting to get hot at the right time. In less than 2 weeks,it's time for their last NEHC playoff at THE COOLER. This is what the team has been waiting for. Beaver and Goyer have been enjoying the advantage of a great team in front of them, but the new season begins in less than 2 weeks.

I would take Luke Aquaro on my team any day of the week and twice on Saturday. He’s been a stud since his freshmen year.

Luke sets the tone for the team with his unselfish play.

Maybe we can persuade you to be a supporter of Hosmirwich hockey :)

Not like I am some kind of consumer advocate, but, guess this would qualify as a possible buyer beware alert.

Early this season four of our away games were streamed on a family of platforms that neither our program (RPI) or conference (ECAC) does business with. The monthly fee was in the $20 to $30 range while the annual fee was in the $90 to $100 range. There was no daily or weekend option.

This weekend both Hobart away games are being streamed behind the paywall of the very same family.

As the old saying goes, where there there is smoke there is probably fire. From Wiki there is the following "observation" about Flo. It was enough to keep our group who sits together at home game completely clear of them. It reads:

For several years their subscription model has emphasized the per-month price, while the actual subscription was billed annually.[46][47] As a consequence, in 2022 a class action lawsuit was filed against FloSports in New York federal court due to their business practices. The suit claimed that FloSports 'misleads customers into believing they are only being charged a monthly fee — rather than the full annual fee — when they first sign up for the sports streaming service.'[48] FloSports later settled this case out of court in November 2023.[49]

Now it's your turn to make the very same decision about where you send your money and sensitive information to.

For my money, If a settlement of a class action lawsuit in a federal court is necessary just to prevent people wishing to watch a game from being taken, just stay the hell away from them. No verification can be found that indicates business practices have changed between the November 2023 settlement and now. Instead, just turn on your radio, connect to a free audio feed (if either are available) or just use live stats that do not require you to provide sensitive information. Never heard of anyone ever having a "problem" because they listened to a radio or used live stats.

Can't say I haven't developed an appreciation for Hobart. I was going to games at the Cooler when Hobart was the laughing stock of the ECAC West. Coach Taylor has done an incredible job turning that program into what it's become. I have friends that work at Hobart from my days at Norwich that I still keep up with from time to time and enjoy seeing them get to experience the success.

and I will never let go of this until it returns some day...Hobart needs to bring back Brass Bonanza as its goal song!!!!

Hobart plays to a 0-0 OT tie with Babson in their last regular season game. They drop to #2 in the NPI to Curry. Last year's Corry win in the first round of the NCCA Playoffs was an awesome nailbiter as the Curry goalie made a billion saves. I'm hoping Hobart retains the last NEHC Championship and gets a bye in the NCAAs, but the first NEHC game is against Albertus Magnus , Hobart's one loss this season. Hoping for a six game winning streak .
