Harvard Crimson Women 09-10

Re: Harvard Crimson Women 09-10

I guess that means that they only post winning scores for exhibition games.

The game hasn't been on the official GoCrimson schedule either, since about August or so. In fact, going by the schedule, I had thought it was canceled until someone mentioned they were playing it a couple of posts up. And it wasn't against a collegiate team either- notice how McGill is on the schedule, as a Canadian collegiate team.

See by way of analogy the men's hockey team and their scrimmage/exhibition last night. They won, but there's absolutely no word on it, because it wasn't even a three period game. And that was against collegiate competition.

So Harvard - Toronto Aeros is more of a scrimmage, I imagine, than an exhibition proper, and is the reason the only place you can find the score is mattj's post. Saturday's game, win, lose or draw, will be, I'm sure, posted.

On an unrelated note, Angela Ruggerio is nominated for the Jefferson Award for Public Service. Story here.

Re: Harvard Crimson Women 09-10

Did anyone have a chance to see the women against McGill? Good to come away with a win but we seem awfully thin up front. A recap from someone who attended would be great.

Re: Harvard Crimson Women 09-10

Nice scoreless period against #2 Clarkson. All the freshmen are getting their ice time, rolling three lines. Hope they maintain their wind throughout the game.

1-1 towards the end of the second. The announcers are brutal

Just wait until Skate79 gets on here.

Seriously, they are brutal. I wish they would do a little less color commentating. On top of that, there is nothing more frustrating then listening to them talk during the game while some advertisement flashes on the screen during the action. Augh!!!!!: Besides Hux, who cares where the **** concession stand is. Obviously if we are watching it on the computer, we are not at the rink to buy a hot dog.rolleyes:

Updated my post at the end of the second period and then forgot to press the button:

"Nice scoreless first period against #2 Clarkson, which has already played 11 games this year. What a good result! All the freshmen are getting their ice time, rolling 2-2/3 lines and 5-1/2 D. Hope they maintain their wind throughout the game.

"Made it through the second period fine. Nice sniping goal by Spurling on the rush. Only 14 skaters tonight? Wow -- reminds me of our son-in-law's B-School team....

"The commentators are saying that Brawn is out for the season, Ryabkina and Conway for a couple of weeks, Romatoski for an indeterminate period of time.

"Notice the all-Minnesota second power play unit (MacD, 2 Chutes, Farni, Hayssen?) BTW, are all Minnesotans properly referred to as Gophers or just UMinn players? If the latter, what does one properly call a Minnesotan?"

You got it: a Minnesotan.

It's unfortunate that we had the roster defections at the beginning of the season because we could sure use the depth. All these players out with injuries and Brawn for the season is a killer. Yet we came up with a big W today beating SLU. Kudos to the team and coaching staff.

If we can just hang in there until exam break, we at least will get some players back and perhaps Katey should put a call out for replacements/tryouts before she is forced to forfeit games due to lack of bodies. This team will be gassed by the end of January if they can't restock the roster.
