Are the Bruins going to chase donato like they did with forsbacka karlson?
I didn't get to see much from Harvard this season, but you guys had one heck of a team. Tough way to lose on that stage, but Duluth is a very solid team (North Dakota got beat by them 5 times this season). Good luck next season, and I'm sure Harvard will be back in this spot sooner than later. Be very proud of your team, and to echo some of the other posters...great season.
Heartbreaker of a loss. Too bad that quick whistle on an obvious loose puck and goal prevented Harvard from taking the lead. Key point was when Donato broke his skate and was off the ice until the final goal. Don't understand why Harvard didn't use their timeout until after the goal. They could have stalled a bit before calling it just as a face off would be taken and used it to get Donato back before the goal.

Would've liked to see some embellishment calls against UMD, and think that was too quick of a whistle on what should've been goal #2.
I was pulling for Hahvahd here, shame to see you guys lose such a heartbreaker.
Huge congrats from the Big Green; way to represent the Ivy League and ECAC. A very tough loss indeed. I agree with most of the points already stated however I will add one important one. Leading up to the winning goals Harvard initially had numbers 5 feet from the blue line but could not get the puck out of the zone then puck gets dug out and goes to the D while Iafallo goes to the net. A great look and combination on that goal. Raskob had every reason to shoot...off wing time and space and he slides over to Iafallo with Esposito trailing. I too thought both goalies looked shaky and with Madsen giving up a terrible goal to end the first. For my money, Kerfoot was the best player on the ice along with Joey Anderson of UMD. BTW I had Harvard in both of my bracket pool and draft/pick em pool. Oh well!
Given that Don Sweeney and Teddy were Crimson teammates, I'm not sure Don wants to ruffle feathers at this point by going after Ryan. I do think that Ryan will jump ship after next season. His game took a step up during March and he'll be ready for the Bruins after his junior season. I doubt his Dad will stand in his way.
Didn't Donato come in a year later than most elite guys? Age 19 after he was drafted? Meaning he could be a free agent if he returns to Harvard next year and then doesn't want to sign with Bruins? I am assuming he does want to sign with Boston but wondering if I have it right that he would be a free agent next August.
IF I wasn't pulling for UMD, I would have liked cheering for Harvard, they were fun to watch. Great skaters. Glad to see Harvard do good. I didn't know until last night they won the Beanpot.![]()
I'm sure they will but I also think the possibility of playing with his brother would be a strong incentive to stay a year.
Of course if USA Hockey decides to chase him for the Olympics...
Yeah from watching it on TV and replaying it a thousand times by rewinding my DVR, I thought the whistle came after the puck crossed the line. But officials are loathe to reverse a call like that when a whistle is involved. It was close to be sure.
Regarding Donato's skate, I'm not sure they would have had enough time even with the timeout to get him back out there. I might have used someone other than Floodstrand for that key face-off. We just lost D zone coverage on the play in addition to the board battle.
