Harvard Crimson 2016-2017

Re: Harvard Crimson 2016-2017

From the replay it looked like he may have caught an edge and tweaked his knee or ankle? Thinking back on it, he was grabbing his calf muscle... maybe a cramp? Hope he's OK. Would be a shame to not have him for the final.

@Scarlet -- I've seen them wear those this season against BC and against Yale at Bright. I think they've worn that jersey (or a similar one with the big "H" on the front) prior to this season when they played at a Frozen Fenway game (didn't go to the game but saw photos).

A couple of new recruits:

Alex Gaffney is a forward out of NJ:

Derek Mullahy is a goalie out of Shattuck (from Scituate):

Can we get Mullahy to enroll by Friday? Kidding of course but hoping that Madsen's injury is not serious. Could not believe they didn't blow the whistle but probably did not since he got up on his skates. Lucky that NU didn't test him.

Yes we have worn those jerseys before. We also have the black and Crimson jerseys but I haven't seen the team wear them lately. The women wear them from time to time. Still like the home jerseys from the 80s and 90s.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2016-2017

I expect a good Harvard team to show up to play on Monday.

But will the Crimson have much fan support?
The support that Harvard gets at the Beanpot has been woeful for a long time.
And it is not just about results. Northeastern turns out large crowds year after year, with nothing to show for it.

The Beanpot just hasn't been that important on campus for a long time. It has coincided with the program's peaks and valleys. And the basketball program's ascension to the NCAA tournament. Hockey just doesn't hold the same interest as b-ball. In fact, sports in general at Harvard gets a tepid response from the fans. Look at the football team and their record of success under Tim Murphy. We still only average around 10,000 fans unless it's the Yale game.

And I was at plenty of NCAA soccer tournament games on campus that had more road fans from Monmouth and Maryland than home fans. It's just the depressing reality.

The positive reality - we beat Union.

Right! Great game last night until the third period. I was a little worried. Last two games, we've had some late game collapses again. The old bugaboo. Need to correct that before Monday.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2016-2017

Good luck to the Crimsons tonight. I heard a rumor that you've sold out your student allotment. Beat the ratdogs.
