Re: Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma
I noticed something, though, that works against ECAC tournament attendance at Bright. That Sunday morning when the final standings and seed assignments had become clear, I looked at tickets both for Harvard at home round 1 and Yale at home round 2. In the case of Harvard, 100% of Bright's seats were available, every one - I could have bought any seat in the house. Clearly season ticket holders did not have their seats given to them, or even held for them. When I looked at Yale tickets, something like 80%-90% were sold, including the huge blocks on the home side. It seemed clear to me (correct me if I am wrong) that Yale season ticket holders already had their home ice ECAC tournament seats. I have no idea what other programs do, but I wonder if Harvard should consider this small reward for their season ticket holders, many of whom clearly did not take the extra step to buy ticket for the Brown series.
Being a Yale season ticket holder I can provide some insight. Yale sent the email below to season ticket on Feb 18. I thought it was a great idea on their part to get going on the playoff ticket sales as early as possible.

If you can only attend if the series is played on one particular weekend, please wait to accept your offer - these tickets will be on hold for you through the end of the day on Wednesday, March 4.
Top-4 Finish = First-Round Bye, Quarterfinal Series at Home|
If Yale finishes in the Top-4 of the regular season league standings, Ingalls Rink will host a best-of-three series on March 13, 14, and 15.
No. 5 - 8 Finish = First-Round Series at Home, Travel for Quarterfinal Series |
If Yale finishes in the 5 - 8 position of the regular season league standings, Ingalls Rink will host a best-of-three series on March 6, 7, and 8.
If Yale finishes outside the Top-8 of the regular season league standings, Ingalls Rink will not host a home series, and will travel for the first-round series.
This year, fans have the ability to pay for all three games up-front. If Yale does not host a home series, then your order will be completely refunded. If the Sunday game (Game 3) is not played in a particular series, your order for that game will be completely refunded.
Currently, the games are scheduled in our calendar for March 6, 7, and 8. At this point, tickets purchased will be valid for either weekend (if the date changes). If you can only attend if the series is played on one particular weekend, please wait to place your order until the League standings are final.
Deadline to Order
Your seats will be on hold for purchase up to Wednesday, March 4 at 5:30pm. After that time, unpurchased seats will be opened for sale to the general public.
