Hail! To those... NMU at Michigan, 2/19-2/20

Re: Hail! To those... NMU at Michigan, 2/19-2/20

Good God! I can barely contain myself at the office right now. I'm decked out in my NMU gear (because its Friday) and I have my NMU Flag hanging up in my office now.

When was the last time any of you were this excited for a game?

For me it was probably when we played Notre Dame at the Joe last year.

Last Tuesday

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. Although you're a Michigan fan, so you usually don't have much to get excited for. If NMU was in the elite like UM hockey I'd probably only get excited when the NCAA's started.

3-1 NMU!!!! So happy with the results.

The announcers suck though. Always sounded t0o excited that NMU was winning even though we're better ranked, also couldn't pronounce Olver or Cherni's names.

Nice job keeping Michigan in check. Always nervous holding on to a lead at Yost but I am very happy NMU could come out with a win.

3 more points on the line tomorrow.

Anyone know of a way to watch tomorrow's without buying the game thorugh UM? I don't get Comcast.

Very nice victory by the Wildcats. Maybe they have figured out a way to win on the road. It is very nice to see the team playing like they are and getting results at tough places to play such at Ferris State and now Michigan. I have no idea what Walt's magic is but boy do his teams play clutch down the stretch. I only hope it carries over into something bigger this season and from the looks of it that is now a distinct possibility. Go Cats Go!!! Let's bury the Wolverines and stick a fork in them, eh!!! :D

My response was entirely based on how our season has gone. Normally I'd be looking forward to this weekend more than most others, because the Cats always play us hard. This year? Meh, there was zero confidence heading into the weekend. Tonight's result surprises me about as much as snow melting at 80 degrees.

WAIT!

MCINCHAK was the ref? And Northern WON? Over... jesus... someone check--Hell, it's not frozen over, right?

Re: Hail! To those... NMU at Michigan, 2/19-2/20

Nice win for that Cats last night. Both of NMU's goals were right in front of me, always nice. NMU can certainly play better tonight. Michigan was able to keep the puck in their end much of the game. Credit goes out to Stewie and the team defense. The Cats killing the first four penalties was huge, really kept the crowd out of it, I was surprised just how quiet it was.

If my math is correct, a NMU win and an Alaska loss or tie and an OSU loss and the Cats will have the bye for the first round.

Finish the deal tonight boys!

Well, they leaned a bit blue, especially early, credit goes to the penalty kill. We could have been buried 1/2 way through the 1st.
I was very impressed with our play the second half of the 1st period. After that, Michigan seemed to pretty much control the play, and all we could seem to do was throw the puck deep and give it back to blue. Michgan handled and moved the puck much better than Northern in the 2nd and 3rd.
Is Oliver the only one that can bring the puck up the ice? I see that as a glaring issue for Northern.
We need to stay out of the box and keep the puck in Michigan's zone more, or this will be a weekend split.

Re: Hail! To those... NMU at Michigan, 2/19-2/20

An NMU win tonight would clinch at least a tie for 4th place. The 'Cats would hold the tiebreaker with UAF. I'm not certain of the tiebreaker situation with Ohio State, but with an NMU win tonight, one point earned by the 'Cats or one point lost by OSU next weekend would give NMU that #4 seed or better.

Very solid win by the Cats last night... The D stepped up to the challenge last night... As usual on offense, Michigan controlled the puck most of the time, but NMU made the most of their opportunities... Penalties were a problem, but they were totally on us... No need to blame McIncheck... We just need to play smarter... Don't grab a player when you are beaten along the boards

Yes!!! We just need a little help and maybe we won't need to win the Mason Cup!

C'mon Tech, Duluth and Clarkson!!!

Where in Marquette will the game be on tonight? I usually go to the Doghouse but I'm not sure if they have the comcast channel.

Keep up the momentum! A win tonight should put us in a good position for an at-large bid!!!!
