Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

I hate soy with a passion,.

I gave up milk and started using soy milk in my cereal, I like it. Tofu, eh, I can eat it but no one else in the house would.

There's just something about the taste of soy that I don't like. I can usually tell if something has been made with it even if I didn't see the label. :(

I try to make it my goal to eat enough meat to make up for as many vegitarians as possible. Then I tell them about it.

edit: also, I always make it a point to order a rare steak or prime rib when I eat with one of them. Just to see the look of horror on their face when I lick the drops of blood off my chin.

The woman in front of me at the gym who took the last two towels even though she knew I was right behind her.

Don't have a problem with vegetarians. Just have a problem with jerks that are vegetarians.

More power to you! Eat what you like to eat!

I don't like being lectured by vegetarians about how unhealthy meat is. Generally, I keep my mouth shut on the subject when I'm around vegetarians because I don't like to invite the discussion because all it does is make me mad.

Since we "evolved" from primates, did you ever think that maybe what our stomachs/digestive systems can handle "evolved" (adapted) too? Perhaps humans ate raw meat and through however many thousands and thousands of years, because meat was later cooked, raw meat was rejected by the body? Just saying.

And thanks for telling me to go * myself. Especially since in my little tirade I was making no personal attacks on anybody, yourself included. But thanks, now I have something to occupy the rest of my time tonight.

I also appreciate you making a judgment on my overall intelligence based on an opinion that I have that I like meat. That says a lot about you. Also considering that I was criticizing our friends and, oh, NOT YOU...

Now go, be oppressed some more.

"No one is even judging that choice." Ha. Haha.

Ugh. Me Brenthoven. Me carnivore. Ooga booga.

;)

Lazy people at work. "Why didn't you do this?" "Because so-and-so will do it later."

Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

When I worked at the hot dog stand and people would ask me how one of our soy-based products taste (I tried all of them, don't like any, but that isn't what customers want to hear) I would tell them that I haven't tried them because I don't believe in eating anything that didn't feel pain when it died. I don't actually believe that, but I figure a vegetarian who eats at a hot dog stand probably has a sense of humor.

Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

I remember of all places Miller Park having soy dogs and Erin was super excited about getting one.

Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

You do realize you came off as one of those "I'm better than you" people in the previous post aimed at bando, right?

If someone wants to be a vegetarian, fine. More meat for me. :)

Yeah, I'm better than you because I don't care what you eat. I'm not judgmental so it makes me awesome. :)

Haha. I know you're not one of those, since I'm pretty sure I've eaten meat in front of you without getting the stereotypical vegetarian annoying speech...just saying that post kind of came off that way. :p

My favorite vegetarian argument is we shouldn't be eating meat because of the methane produced by cows. Well, when Bessie is a 21 oz. porterhouse on my plate...she's not producing that methane. :)

Well mass produced meat in general is very destructive to the environment because of the ways they need to mass produce it to feed the need of the populace that has been accustomed to cheap meat.

Meat by itself isn't bad for the environment.

I'd be curious to see what harm to the environment the production of tofu, etc...causes. As a disclaimer, I have no idea.

Off the meat/soy thing. Adults who want their kids to win even if it means screwing the other team/kids in a way that is so blatant it is embarassing really grind my gears. Cmon people. If you are going to cheat at least be subtle about it. Your kids weren't fooled and nether were any of the others.
