Neighbors who decide to start working on their basement at 9:30 PM and begin operating power drills at full blast right on the other side of the wall from where you are sitting.

Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

so, this is completely minor but I found it ridiculous.

Went to Dairy Queen with the softball team and was told I couldn't have peanut butter cups on my sundae. Appearantly the manager/owner/policy maker of the Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor Dairy Queen has decided not to allow "Blizzard toppings" on sundaes. Preposterous! Charge me extra and let me have toppings on my sundae.

Besides, isn't "Blizzard toppings" is an oxymoron? They put stuff "in" Blizzards and then mix it in/smash it to pieces. "Toppings" are what go "on top" of sundaes.

I used to work at a DQ. They aren't supposed to allow this anywhere.

I seem to have misplaced my watch (probably in my yard, which means I now need a new watch), and have now looked at my empty wrist 8,247 times today...... so far. It is grinding my gears.

Communist.
Not you, but DQ.

What's the reason? I worked in food service, and if the customer ever wanted to pay for something out of the ordinary, I had it done.

"How about you give me a Blizzard, but with less ice cream and in a smaller plastic cup, and don't mix in the toppings?"

Stupid corporate decisions.

EDIT: And wT, you should have told them, "Fine. Culvers is better anyway." :D

Yes

One guy I remember even paid for a beef n' cheddar sandwich "hold the beef", because he was going to give it to his kid like it was a grilled cheese.

Back when I worked at McDonald's there was a guy who came in every morning and ordered a Sausage Biscuit with the sausage cooked on the grill five times over. It came off the grill almost completely flattened and jet black. I didn't know how he (actually his wife) ate it, so one day I made one for myself. It tasted kinda like bacon, but gave me awful heartburn.

All that char every morning also probably tripled her cancer risk (though if they ate McD's for breakfast every morning they've already got problems ).

Guy on my shift tried to deep-fry lettuce once. Don't do it. :p
