And how poor the communication is in the leagues. Lil had friends whose parents bought those 200-300$ bats so their kid could be a sooper stah! The kids aren't making the JV team but they have awesome credit card debt.
If a $300 bat puts you into credit card debt, you have bigger issues. :p

I think you just identified the bigger issue! :)

I was given a prescription for a brace to prevent shinsplints. I've tried to fill it at three different places, and each place just tells me to try somewhere else.

Call the insurance company and ask them to find you a supplier. They should have a listing

Last year when I had that ulnar nerve problem, and needed an arm support, I had to go to 3-4 different places before I found one that had what I needed. This, despite the doc telling me that each of those places should have the support.

I'm going back out tonight, and if I can't find it, I'll call the insurance company on Monday.

My Mum grinds my gears. Big time! Just back from the hospital. My Mum fx her ankle in 2 places in one bone and 1 place the other bone tripping on something she didn't pick up off the floor. A few yrs ago she needed shoulder surgery after falling from you guessed it- tripping on something she left on the floor. THen about 6 months ago she wrecked the other shoulder because you guessed it- she tripped on something she left on the floor. I have been haunting her to keep the floor clear. Her house looks like a bomb hit it. If you drop something then you should pick it up. She makes out like I am a nag for telling her the situation is dangerous but she has really done it this time- screws, plate and a stint in rehab. Her brother is going to let her have it. She doesn't listen to me obviously.

Your mom and my dad would be a perfect match.

In the past few weeks, I've found my chef's knife used and left on the cutting board, espresso stains on the stove (after I've cleaned it), espresso grounds on the counter, along with his usual act of dishes and pop cans left out, dirty clothes everywhere, syringe and alcohol swab wrappers on the floor, etc. Last night I caught him double-dipping from my big tub of sugar, and I let him have it. If this keeps up, I'm banning him from the kitchen. If he worked for me, I'd have fired him by now.

It's been more than a week and I still can't find the brace I'm supposed to wear. Called my doctor's office to find out where I can buy it, and they had no idea. Great. Guess I'll just order it online.

The city (which is a stretch to call where I live a city) says that I can't cut down my dead trees because they're oaks that died of oak wilt, and cutting them down can spread oak wilt if the tree hits another oak tree on the way down. HELLO! Every goddamm oak tree on my lot is ****ing dead where the hell are the trees I'm going to spread it to!?! Stupid. Aparently I didn't move far enough away from the city. No one at the farm would tell me I couldn't cut down one of my own trees.

Well... why'd you ask? ;)

Re: Grinding Away..Things that grind your gears, part three

Quite frankly (being the rebel I am) I'd ignore it. "I swear, I didn't know it was an oak."
Also, the next door neighbor came over when I was working in the yard, asked me about the trees, said I couldn't cut them down, and added that his son is the city's forrestry officer. :(

edit: because Ham Lake needs a forrestry officer. Tax dollars at work!

I have a buddy who is a forester - recently retired from Mpls. Parks Dept. He could probably help you prepare a plan to give to the city to remove the dead trees without risking the spread of wilt. I'll talk to him about it.

See these details are crucial :p
The sprawling metropolis of Ham Lake.

Also, ohhhh Brent.

Holland, MI is like Hotel California. Getting in is easy. Getting out, especially during Tulip Time, is a mess.
