Grand Unified Election Thread 2: What is the difference between Biden and Dump?

Holy cow, the posts since last night.

So GMA just backed the WJC following on this thread- they actually just mentioned the USA win last night- in between election and covid coverage. No more protesting about the cross info- it wasn't a lot. And you guys were watching both at the same time- saves time to keep them both in the same thread.

I normally don't watch- but one reason to watch- what I did watch last night was very good hockey.

Anyway, the comment from the dumb boys about them having the cop's back- yea, when they are being racists, like you guys, of course you would support them. But that does not mean they will allow you to be violent. it just means they have a bias against minorities.

I feel for the NG and cops in DC today. Although, one can suggest that the cops attitude toward minorities have pushed this racist agenda as much as dumpy has- probably a lot more. So for them to get to fight against their own violent agenda, well...

Give Mitch the basement office furthest from the Senate floor. Make him walk. Just when he gets back, make him turn around and walk back by calling a vote. Do it often.

Don’t read too much into this. That’s my caution. You aren’t winning with a liberal in West Virginia no matter what hallucinogens are in your system.

Every. State. Is. Different.

im already seeing idiots like Will Stancil saying we should essentially be running very progressive liberals in all races. This is the absolute wrong takeaway.

My takeaway is Stacey Abrams is a generational organizer who is supremely in touch with her state. They also ran one of the most influential black leaders in a state with a very large black population. Ossoff would have gotten his *** kicked without a Warnock.

Find me 49 more Stacey Abrams.

It would be hard to have two more unlikable opponents too. It's amazing that Perdue and Loeffler and disliked by both sides and still came pretty close. It goes to show you how insane a lot of voters are.

I gave Warnock a 50% chance and Ossoff a 10% to win. Good thing I don’t do that for a living. It made intuitive sense for Warnock to win more votes than Ossoff, but not significantly more votes to where Ossoff was this safe too.

I can't believe I'm writing this, but I'm delighted that two people that are far more to the left than I am have won, and that senate control seems to be heading away from the corrupted GOP.

Burn down the party of Trump.

I don’t think Ossoff and Warnock are as liberal as some think. Definitely not Joe Manchin, but certainly not Elizabeth Warren. I think both are publicly against Medicare for All, although now that they’ve won, maybe that tune will change.

I feel the exact same way.

We need significant change in this country and it seems like the modern day GOP wants to drag us backwards if anything.

Well, as the situation with the pandemic has shown, the country needs a thorough shake-up and major changes. I'm sure COVID is not the last problem in this world. And we need to be prepared for difficult situations, we must be aware of them in time and take action, and not sit and dream and listen to nonsense.

I'd love this too, but those offices are pretty much set in stone. The Speaker's office hasn't changed since Gingrich, for example. I stumbled upon an old Capitol office layout from 2000 and decided to read up on them over lunch yesterday. I know, super exciting topic. What's crazy is how many offices leadership actually occupy in the Capitol:
CDIR-2000-10-01-CAPITOL.pdf (govinfo.gov)

Take Peolsi, she gets:
HB–5, 13
H–127, 128
H–209, 210, 220, 227, 228, 229, 232A, 233, 236, 230, 231, 232.
H–326, 327, 333, 334, 335
H–419A, 419B, 419C, 419D, 419E

The Senate calls them hideaways. They are divied up by seniority and don't change much unless someone retires or dies. The layout is old and doesn't reflect the recent renovations.

And they also have offices in the external House/Senate office buildings
