So about Flynn- given what he has been saying publicly in the media, what are the chances he is called back in service within a few weeks of the inauguration so that he can be court-martialed? IMHO, the reason that has not happened is fear of losing your job by the joint chiefs. What he's doing seems to be a pretty clear violation of his oath.

Good question. A quick google search says that it would.

Flynn's previous pardon only covers the previous investigation. So for that to happen, dumpy needs to do that before Jan 20. If he doesn't, and then the court martial happens after he's not President, Flynn would not be covered.

So maybe people need to sit on this one and be quiet.

We absolutely need to make them pay this time around. For those who are afraid this will all just lead to a tit-for-tat response the next time the republicans are holding the executive I have news for you, if we don't fix this mess and fix it this time around, the next time the republicans hold the executive branch will be the last time we have elections that even approach being meaningful around here.

The time is now to do whatever we can to hold the criminals in the trump administration responsible for their crimes. People need to know there are consequences from illegal and treasonous activities. Go after all of them. trump, his family, Flynn, Barr, anyone who broke the law. Which pretty much encompasses 3/4s of the people who worked in the trump administration, other than career people (and there were some of them too, I'm sure).

Will any of this happen? No. You might see some low level patsy or scapegoat pay a price. You might see a prosecution here or there for some violation of lobbying or campaign finance rules. But other than that? Crickets I'm sure. There are those who are now thinking that if Ford had not pardoned Nixon and we had gone after him with everything we could it would have sent a message that the White House is not there for grifting. I don't know. I do know that in 1974 the democracy was not gasping for air. We are now. Either 5h!t or get off the pot. I say hang 'em all.

What's the military penalty for an attempted military coup? If dumpy tries, and flynn is an accomplice.... what happens?

BTW, if we had real adults in Congress, dumpy could be quickly impeached before the 20th. So it would be interesting if he tries. There's not enough dumpy support in the house for that not to pass through in an hour, so it would be up to turtle. Maybe- if there are enough racists who would want to prevent a coup, they could call for his ouster quickly, too.

if he goes off his hinge, and the cabinet refused to do anything, the only recourse we have to stop him is an impeachment.

But a quick google search suggests that the 25th could be enacted by Congress on their own, along with the VP. So I guess impeachment would not be required.

If he REALLY tries to forcefully overturn the election, something would have to happen. The courts only say "no you can't"- someone would have to force him to stop.

I know my most extreme opinions are not shared by many, but frankly, I am tired of tolerating a lawless administration because we're afraid of trumps millions of armed followers. If these people want a war, I say give it to them and get it over with. If they can't handle the rule of law and people that have repeatedly broke it being brought to justice, they have two choices. They can except it like adults and re-join the nation, or they can do what the losers did 150 years ago and violently rebel. I want this nation to be one of laws and one that strives to reach its ideals. If 70 million people living here can't handle that, whatever happens probably needs to happen.
