Gophers-Badgers: Not Good Enough for Mariucci

Re: Gophers-Badgers: Not Good Enough for Mariucci

It wasn't pretty, it was more than a bit ugly with quite of few dashes of luck, but we'll take it.

I listened to the rodent radio feed, and just being honest, they aren't very good. All the color guy did was go "ooohh", "aahhh" and "geez" in the backround. The play by play guy had long lapses of nothing, I think mainly when UW had the puck. The MI Tech guys I listened to last week were great.

Re: Gophers-Badgers: Not Good Enough for Mariucci

The flaw in your logic is you think I actually care if I'm "red".... that just means I am doing my job and putting all you drunkin Sconi's in your place with all the great facts I've been providing all week! You guys know I put you in your place, and out of frustration tag me. You aren't clever enough to respond by writting something remotely coherent, it's just easier to give me a neg rep.

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Congrats to DU on winning the cup - much deserved for sure. This might be the deepest and most talented WCHA team since the 01' Gophers... like that team many players will be tearing up the NHL very soon.

Just don't get tripped up early in the NCAA's like last year... we need you around to smoke UND for a 5th time this year and/or the drunkin Sconi's. Would love to see a DU vs Miami championship!
This is the only fact you have posted. The rest has just been trolling, useless, gibberish. I guess that's what happens when you have oxygen deprivation from laying under the rink pigs. Maybe you should try being on top once, unless the ladder doesn't go that high.

The Goofs played the exact game they needed to win: low scoring and defense dominated, but the Badgers still came on top because they have some nice defense themselves. Sure, the Badgers are an upper classmen team, but the freshmen Craig Smith is among our most valuable players. Great effort from him tonight. And lastly, Gudmanson was great tonight. Minnesota put up some pretty good shots on him in the 3rd period and he denied all but one. What a great hockey game, and hopefully we can finish these guys off tomorrow.

Re: Gophers-Badgers: Not Good Enough for Mariucci

Wow I haven't seen the ref give a game away like that in years. 5 out of the first 6 PP's go to Wisconsin on ticky tack BS... and only after Sconi had a nice lead the refs decided they better even it out so the perception is it was fair... not even close though. Also, they missed a hit to the head penalty that even the former Sconi announcer thought should have been called... Speaking of that announcer clown, he was practically cheering every time the Badgers did something good and complain every time the ref called anything at all against Sconi...not professional at all!

Now to the disallowed goals - 1st one was ligit no goal. 2nd one - I have seen goalies get run over by opponents or throw to the ground and have goals count. The one that happened last night wasn't even close! Even the bias announcers thought it was a goal. On that no goal the refs in fact game Sconi the game. The 3rd one, the net was off sure; but should have been a penalty shot since your goalie clearly pushed it off on purpose. Speaking of your goalie; wow he sucks... I can't believe you guys love to rip on Kangas...ironic, because if you think you are going any where in the playoffs with that kid, you are high!

You guys will probably talk smack about this win, but that abortion by the WCHA officials is the only reason you won…. We worked you the entire game.

He left a bunch of juicy rebounds and that one in the third he should have had. He played average at best

One whole goal, which the Goofers overcame. And the Goofs were on the powerplay for most of the 2nd period; if you want your team to win, I suggest they learn to score on the PP.
Also, they missed a hit to the head penalty that even the former Sconi announcer thought should have been called...
They did miss that penalty, but they also failed to whistle an offsides on the Badgers which lead directly to the Goofers first goal; why don't we call it a wash. Also, Andringa is still the UW color guy.

You're right, there have been much worse crease violations. That doesn't change the fact that the refs (miraculously) got a call right. Read back in the thread, someone posted the rule.

"Suck" is pretty strong, but he did not have a good game. Thank god the Badgers can actually score goals, unlike the Goofers.

**** straight. The Badgers played a terrible game, their goalie was average, the ice sucked, and the officiating was, well, typical WCHA officiating, but they still won.

Re: Gophers-Badgers: Not Good Enough for Mariucci

Now the big question:
Which of your three bitter rivals would you rather play at:
UND, SCSU, or UMD?
UND seems to be playing better and peaking while the others are faltering.

Fortunately for you, they are all within driving distance.

UMD
SCSU
UND

In that order. Partly because my UND friends will be beating their chests all offseason if they win but also 'cause UMD is looking pretty lackluster lately.

The Wisconsin men’s hockey team (22-8-4, 17-7-3 WCHA) won its fourth consecutive game and took a 3-2 victory over border-rival Minnesota (16-17-2, 11-14-2 WCHA) Friday night in the Target Center. The Badgers were powered by two goals from freshman forward Craig Smith (Madison, Wis.) in the crucial conference victory.

The victory, coupled with St. Cloud State loss, clinches second place in the WCHA for the Badgers.

Just as the rodent fans would have talked smack if they had won.
BTW, if the rodents hadnt gotten that LUCKY goal from when the puck bounced off of one of the Badgers and went in the net, it would have been a 3-1 win for Bucky. :D

rinkpig = d**chebag : an individual who has an over-inflated sense of self worth, compounded by a low level of intelligence, behaving ridiculously in front of colleagues with no sense of how moronic he appears.

If you are going to rip on my intelligence; at least spell it correctly.

I didn't spell it, I just copied and pasted that one. Someone else's spelling error. My bad for not correcting it.

Badger fans can't complain about bad ice after what happened to Michigan in that outdoor game. At least these ice issues didn't provide the home team with any advantage....another similarity to the Michigan game was the refs decided they wanted Wisconsin to win that game as well. Once again WCHA refs….Eaves must give good head.

The ice for the Michigan game was only bad in a couple of spots. The entire sheet last night was pretty bad. At times it looked like they were using a super-ball and not a puck.

Penalties
Wisconsin 8 for 16 minutes
Minnesota 7 for 14 minutes

When did the refs give Wisconsin the game? And before you point to the disallowed goal, read the rules regarding a man in the crease that has already been posted in this thread.

This would involve facts, something he knows nothing about.
Well, he may know facts he just doesn't use any in his posts.

Re: Gophers-Badgers: Not Good Enough for Mariucci

Watched the 3rd period this am on the big 11 channel. UW's d played poorly from the rodent blueline back to the top of the UW circles. Schultz really struggled last night.

Both the goals I saw scored in the 3rd should have been stopped by the tenders. Goody didn't look bad, but he got beat at least 5 times, the 2 goals scored, the waived off one, the net off one and the Cepis rocket. He also did have some rebound control issues. He's still the guy, though. Since 2nd is locked up, does Eaves go with Bennett tomorrow to see where he's at?

Mitchell's line looked very solid.

UW can't loose the face-off battle like they did last night.

{sigh}

It was a fluke goal, right?
