Goon’s Top 20 pre-season ranking

Re: Goon’s Top 20 pre-season ranking

Re: Goon’s Top 20 pre-season ranking

Hello Pot...

Kind of like most of your posts?

Good Lord, can you be more dense?

Notice I had three separate key lines on my post. Follow along...
1) Lowell's season hit their low point during a point where they lost Hutton (as mentioned before) and a guy that was a lot more important to the team than the score sheet indicated for a stretch of 6 games.

See that's line 1. That recaps when we hit our low point for the season.

2) They lost all six of those games, four by one goal, the other two by two goals (each due to an empty netter).

Line 2 recaps the results.

3) During that stretch, they only gave up 14 goals in those games (not counting the empty netters) ... but just couldn't hit the back of the net themselves.

Line 3 gives more details. We did well defensively (aka 14 goals), but couldn't score (aka no offense).

I really need to put idiots like you back on ignore.

1.) So what your saying is your a pre-law student and feel the need to put a lot of extraneous information into your statements to make them sound more believable.

Rephrase : We lost 6 games in a row.

2.) Actually its a recap of the goal differential not the results. A recap of the results would be " we went 0-6 -0."

3.) We couldn't score.

Regardless, without using paragraph's or bulleting your points it the original post you have :

We lost Hutton, went 0-6-0 and couldn't score. Sounds an awful lot like losing Hutton was the problem as your points just run together.

I stand by my post.

Re: Goon’s Top 20 pre-season ranking

Um ... what? I stated two facts in my comment. Lowell gave up just 14 goals (outside of empty netters), which means their D and goaltending was OK, but couldn't find a way to score in those 6 games. That's all I said. There's no excuse there.

I only see one fact here : UML gave up 14 goals. The rest is just opinion, you sure do struggle with "facts"

Re: Goon’s Top 20 pre-season ranking

14 goals in six games is actually pretty good, FYI

It would depend on who you are playing. 14 goals against in 6 games against BU....yeah.

Would you say it was pretty good if it was AF or Yale? Providence? Union?

Regardless I didn't say it was bad, merely pointing out that it was the only fact in the statement?

Oh, so UMLFan is the east's version of billy blanks. I understand now.

Question: Do the rest of hockey east fans strongly dislike lowell fans?

Yes, saying we didn't score goals is definitely not a fact. It's just an opinion. Wow.

Considering that you did in fact score SOME goals then yes it is an opinion. Had UML scored exactly zero goals, then it would be a fact.

Moreover, what you said was they couldn't find a way to score goals, which is very much an opinion.

I can't speak for all of hockey east, but you can mark me down as a yes. It would make for a good poll though. :D

They really should require an IQ level before people post here.

I'm done with this thread. Somehow answering someone's comment about why Lowell's standings in HE didn't match up with their statistical standings wound up with a couple of people spouting off, showing their lack of knowledge. Go ahead guys ... be internet warriors.

The ignore list is your friend...

Eastern hockey fans – can’t live with ‘em, can’t kill ‘em.

We have UMLFan's word, he's "done with this thread." So that's that. Won't it be?????? We do have his word.

Big Blue, while the intelligensia at UM-Lowell has branded you and your kind "reading comprehension impaired," I disagree and think you deserve a master of the bleeding obvious degree in so quickly identifying their nature and contributions to college hockey.

But, in their defense, I only think they have been the most despicable Hockey East fans since their team got good. And by 'good' I mean 5th place finish, a sweep of UVM in the HE quarterfinals and one win in the HE tournament, when two were necessary.

And all of that goodness came this past March!

They've only been unbearable for that long.

Is there a plaque associated with this?

No, you just get an "atta boy"

Atta boy.

I concur with grant fan. When UML sucks their fans are quiet. When they finish in 5th place and make it to the Garden (regardless of the fact they went home to their regularly scheduled tee times) they get really really annoying.

Hey Big Blue, Michigan fans and fans of all of this season's upper echelon college teams who will raise the ire of UM-Lowell fans when discussing your standing in comparison to Lowell's!!!

For a very factual yet readable review of UM-Lowell hockey history prior to last season's mighty successful season, check out the now-defunct but impactful pinheadnation.blogspot.com. Scroll down to the July 3, 2007, entry (not too far down) for historical perspective on the high standing the hockey program held in the school's athletic department, the coach's off-season recruiting trips and other proud hockey tales. Also, scroll down to the May
24, 2007, entry to read about the coach's 2007 Coach of the Year award.

Pinheadnation makes a compelling argument for its declaration that the direction of the Lowell hockey program in the summer of 2007 was Low, Lower, Lowest, Lowell.

But they're mighty good now!

Re: Goon’s Top 20 pre-season ranking

However, they still mistakenly think Miami is the winningest program over the past five seasons when Michigan easily tops them over that period.

Sean

True they did get that wrong. Not sure where they got their numbers but I broke it down:

Miami since the 04-05 season is 121-62-19 for a win % of .599. So I took it over the last 6 season from the 03-04 season and Miami was 144-76-23 for a win % of .592 which obviously isnt better. So I broke it down over the last 4 season when Miami has had their most success and they have a record of 106-44-14 for a win % of .646 which is very good, but not good enough. Since 03-04 Michigan is 168-69-15 for a win % of .665, since 04-05 they are 140-55-13 for a win % of .673 which is still ahead. But the last 4 years is a lot closer as they are 109-47-10 for a win % of .656.

Miami had a bad year in 2004-2005 which hurt them in this case but over the last 4 years it has been close the 5 ties Miami had this year may of cost them that honor.

Now again this is just between Miami and Michigan, dont have time to go through everyone but I would find it hard to have a better win % over the last 4 years than those two.
