How does stuff like this get talked about over there? Is politics a big topic for locals or do they look over their shoulder all the time?
oh, and all those imported help person are looked down upon worse (yes, it's possible) than tD supporters do back home. mookie is the only professional who speaks to (heck, acknowledges) the tea boys, cleaners, messengers, whatnot.
think that has anything to do with lib euros all having a couple mistresses? and it being accepted?
did mookie mention here (somewhere) how they all tell mookie how upset they were that tD and bho before him (lotta blame to go around) gave up iraq and syria to iran. peeps are very afraid of iran coming across and turning south and using their wonderful highways when the chit is ready to head into the kingdom. here the emir is trying very hard to win a noble pp, being a mediator with the gcc4 vs qatar, working with iraq on the still outstanding reparations, generally everything that needs a voice of reason. he's a rather decent king all things considered. people here are like they are anywhere else. they can talk. they can also import south asians to do all the dirty work like the us does with their southern neighbor, then complain about it. the mp's here waste all their time debating each other how one can reduce the expat population more than the next mp. raise fees, etc. funny part is nobody wants to touch or put extra limits on household help. each family is allowed to have 5 (or is it 8?) maids. fees for them are set low while all the other expat fees are higher or getting higher. visa app fees. stuff like that. rather funny indeed.

As someone that lived for a year in the region and now for 3+ In SE Asia all I can ask is what? In general much of what you say rings true but in relation to this attack?
Footage shows the moment 'pipe bomb malfunctions and explodes prematurely, injuring ISIS-inspired Bangladeshi suspect in his 20s wearing wires'
An explosion was felt Monday morning in the Subway station underneath the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan
Suspect made the explosive device at his workplace

This is a proud day for our native ingenuity.

They've been making bombs in NYC for the past 40+ years. The quality of the bomb making hasn't improved either.
