AFAIK every European in power has several mistresses. It's a class accessory, like a summer house or a Cayman's account.
How does that work for Angela Merkel?![]()
This guy's making bombs at work! And here I felt guilty pulling some UniStrut out of the dumpster to make some legs for some seating from the old REA (now the site of the HPC) that I acquired over the summer.

Which makes one think, why isn't Homeland Security and/or the FBI flooding the internet with sites that purport to give instructions on how to build bombs, except that there is always a flaw in the design of some sort or another. Not only would the bombs not work, but also we would collect lots of IP addresses from visitors to those sites.
I sure hope that the Amtrak train derailment in Washington (state) is not a result of deliberate sabotage.
It was running on brand-new track in its first journey on that track. Hard to imagine what else might be behind it, usually the testing protocols are pretty sound.
Monday’s deadly Amtrak train derailment appears to have been caused by an object on the railway, according to a government official briefed on the crash.
A preliminary investigation suggests maintenance problems are unlikely to blame because the incident took place on brand-new tracks, the official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

The railway route had recently undergone a $181 million retrofit program in order to speed up passenger service that previously traveled away from the freeway and along the coast. Part of that retrofit was to include “positive train control” systems that can prevent dangerous situations such as excessive speed.
The 14.5-mile corridor is now equipped for positive train control equipment, but the train controls aren’t operating yet in that area, said Amtrak CEO Richard Anderson. An Amtrak spokesman said the equipment was still being tested
