Also, if you claim to be transgender in a bald-faced, attention-seeking maneuver (thereby smearing the reputations of actual trans people who have careers and don't break laws), it will help you get out of jail free as well.

Obama's commuted sentences or outright pardoned more people than the last 12 presidents combined. Hell, he commuted 209 sentences and pardoned 64 others yesterday alone.

He has hardly reserved it only for famous people.

I don't know the stories behind each of them, but I do believe most of his commutations have been with regards to non-violent drug offenders. Those make sense, especially with how he has directed the Justice Department and other agencies to not worry about marijuana in those states who've decriminalized the drug in some form or another.

According to POTUS this morning, the lion's share have reduced non-criminal drug sentences to current guidance from the idiocy it was when the War On Drugs was a thing people actually mentioned unironically.

Lion share maybe but some had gun offenses to go with their drug offenses, those are ones I don't get

OK, yes that was over the top. Still, cynical me can't help but notice Manning didn't announce it until after getting caught handing off state secrets. Which, I will point out, definitely gives us an idea of Manning's "heart", no matter how you feel about the practices of the NSA and CIA.

Maybe they're going to wake up. Here's the thing; the media has been bending over backwards for years to protect their access, so if Bannon is going to go all L'etat, c'est moi!, the administration loses its leverage and the networks lose nothing by doing their jobs.

Making America Safe Again. White House Claims 5 year-old boy detained in US airport could have posed security threat

The White House has said a five-year-old boy was detained for more than four hours and reportedly handcuffed at an airport because he posed a “security risk”.

The boy, reportedly a US citizen with an Iranian mother, was one of more than 100 people detained following President Donald Trump’s immigration order.

In a press briefing, Mr Trump’s press secretary Sean Spicer was unrepentant about the incident.

He said: “To assume that just because of someone’s age and gender that they don’t pose a threat would be misguided and wrong.”

Footage shows the boy's mother waiting anxiously at Dulles International airport in Washington DC before being reunited with her son, who was reportedly flown into the airport with another family.

She then sang “happy birthday” to the little boy in English as she hugged him and covered him with kisses as onlookers cheered.

The mother declined to speak with reporters, but Senator Chris Van Hollen said the little boy was a US citizen who lives with his mother in Maryland.

Mr Van Hollen, a Democrat, said it was “outrageous” that the boy had been held for so long and that his mother had given the airport advance notice of his arrival.

Obama pulled us out of it and Trump is going to take us to an even darker place subsequently making Junior look like a strategic genius.
