Global War on Terror 8 - Winter is Coming

Re: Global War on Terror 8 - Winter is Coming

This was not an assassination, this was an execution.

From another article:

a senior figure in the Latin American department of the Russian foreign ministry

More likely somebody didn't get the direct deposit of their Russian DEA bribe this month. So yes, an execution, but most likely private, not state.

Dead in Moscow? Bullet in head? Only thing missing from the "report" is which ear did they use.

A few years ago the Russian news ran the story of one of these killings before it actually happened. Very embarrassing.

Re: Global War on Terror 8 - Winter is Coming

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

A review by The New York Times of thousands of court records and internal agency documents showed that over the last 10 years almost 200 employees and contract workers of the Department of Homeland Security have taken nearly $15 million in bribes while being paid to protect the nation's borders and enforce immigration laws.

These employees have looked the other way as tons of drugs and thousands of unauthorized immigrants were smuggled into the United States, the records show. They have illegally sold green cards and other immigration documents, have entered law enforcement databases and given sensitive information to drug cartels. In one case, the information was used to arrange the attempted murder of an informant.

The Times' findings most likely undercount the amount of bribes because in many cases court records do not give a tally. The findings also do not include gifts, trips or money stolen by Homeland Security employees.

Russia hacks it's way into the power grid. Nice security we have. **** away money on defense budget but can't defend our electrical grid.

How long before people universally agree people being upset about the hacking of the DNC was not about the results of the election but rather the fact Russia continues to try and ****** with us? And if they're doing it I guarantee others are trying to as well.

For the GOP and their voters? Probably never. They've gone full herpaderp. Until the democrats are back in power (*ahem*), we can't and won't have nice things. The GOP has proven that all they care about is what their puppet masters care about. Oh and what a woman does with her body.

Russia is no longer a priority unless they get to bomb it.

This, and the airport attack in the last year, and that "Putin Lite" leader of theirs, are reasons why I will avoid Turkey for the foreseeable future. It's a shame, since it would've been different just 10 years ago.

And Turkish Airlines often has the cheapest fares in/out of Europe. Go figure.

Spent two weeks there 4 years ago. Fabulous place. Absolute shame. Erdogan is dangerous.

Putin Lite might be an underestimation. Putin hasn't purged the army and schools yet.

Places I would love to go but probably never will because of morons: Turkey, Iraq, Libya.

Ankara has long been on my bucket list along with Beirut. Beirut of the not too distant past sounds like New York east.

"The Paris of the Levant." Tom Friedman's only good book is about how Beirut collapsed. Sounds like it was once an incredible entrepot.
