Geneseo Ice Knights 13-14 Season: Where memories linger and our thoughts remain

Re: Geneseo Ice Knights 13-14 Season: Where memories linger and our thoughts remain

Also, congratulations to Stephen Collins for making the SUNYAC All-Rookie team.

Well deserved.

I just checked the SUNYAC site and they do not have anything listed. Do you have the full listing of All Conference, Coach of the year, etc.?

Re: Geneseo Ice Knights 13-14 Season: Where memories linger and our thoughts remain

BREAKING NEWS - WTOP10 is taking Hockey Night In Oswego on the road to Geneseo for the SUNYAC Men's Hockey Championship Game. Historic First Road Game, First HD Broadcast

Multiple transmission path tests from the Geneseo rink by WTOP student engineers were successful today. Pre, post and in-game intermission segments will be live from the WTOP's Al Roker studio beginning at 6:30pm. WTOP's HD mobile production system will provide game coverage live from The Ira at 7:00pm.

Game will be available on Oswego Athletics website http://athletics.oswego.edu/showcase/

It should be noted this was made possible through the support of the SID's and CTS operations of both schools.

More details as they become available.

Kudos to Geneseo!

Nope - Dan Hickling's weekly article has the all-rookie team, most defensive dman, and most defensive forward awards as he cumulated those votes from coaches (as Jaslow used to.)

Doesn't appear the SUNYAC has released the all-conference teams, POY, ROY, and COY yet. It seems like it used to always be released the week after the regular season ended, but looks like it won't be until after the championship this year.

Re: Geneseo Ice Knights 13-14 Season: Where memories linger and our thoughts remain

This was a really tough way to lose for this Geneseo team. Losing 5-1 and to come back, then to go down 6-5 and to tie it again. I think Geneseo can make a strong case for a Pool C bid, but with Trinity losing today I'm less confident now than I was at the beginning of the day. The committee is a crap shoot, and I won't be shocked no matter what the field looks like. I will say this: if Geneseo makes the tournament field, it will be arguably the greatest achievement of Geneseo hockey in the 10 years I've been following the program. I witnessed two conference championships when I was at Geneseo, but neither of those teams would have been selected for the tournament on the basis of their season long body of work had they not won the conference. This might be the best Geneseo team I can remember, the first that I think could legitimately compete for a national championship, and being selected for the tournament would be a great compliment to the team and Coach Schultz's admirable work this season. Here's hoping there is good news for Ice Knight fans tomorrow evening. I hope to see you guys in Maine later this month!

Re: Geneseo Ice Knights 13-14 Season: Where memories linger and our thoughts remain

I said as much last night, but this is a huge accomplishment for Geneseo hockey, to be selected for the tournament as an at-large bid on the basis of their season's work. The only thing left to do is prove the NCAA made the right choice and that you belong. Let's go Ice Knights! Make me book a ticket to Maine this month!

Go Knight's! This is the proper culmination of a great year for a very-talented and hard-working team.

Forecasting 10-15 inches of snow 5 AM Wednesday to 5 AM Thursday in Geneseo. I assume Nichols will leave Tuesday, but I still have to think this game is in Jeopardy. Whose call is it, the NCAA or host institution? Would it be pushed back to Thursday?

Those big buses can plow thru it, honestly I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Geneseo Ice Knights 13-14 Season: Where memories linger and our thoughts remain

Well I guess I wasn't so much worried about Nichols bus as I was worried about myself getting there and back lol and I was hoping they will move the game to a day I could more easily get to the IRA.

I'll still probably truck down, but I am not looking forward to it.

Congrats to the honorees from all teams! 5 out of 18 guys from the Ice Knights is pretty awesome.

Tough that Brickler couldn't find a spot on these teams. He had an incredible year, but these are all great players so tough to find anyone to kick off.

Much deserved for everyone. It was clear from the first game of the season that this edition of the Ice Knights is very talented. They've also worked very hard all year for everything they've achieved. I've never enjoyed watching Ice Knights hockey so much!

Re: Geneseo Ice Knights 13-14 Season: Where memories linger and our thoughts remain

Saw a few pictures on the Nichols athletics twitter account of the team practicing at the IRA around 5:30 pm this afternoon so they got to town OK.
