Gear Grinding 9: I Need a Wine!

Re: Gear Grinding 9: I Need a Wine!

How is $15/hour relevant to what I originally said?

I'm upset over an amazing lack of respect from the staff at Panera Bread, and he's turning this into a minimum wage argument.

I was referring to aparch's post about always screwing up his order, not to your post. Your post is a WHOLE 'nother discussion. :)

Re: Gear Grinding 9: I Need a Wine!

Someone told me I should just forgive Panera and keep going there. **** that.

If they don't respond to correction at all, why the hell should I keep going there?

Re: Gear Grinding 9: I Need a Wine!

Which you don't want to have.

I would like to, but that wasn't my issue here with my post.

As for your post, I found it horrible that they continued to not correct their mistake, and I would make calm, collected calls to management about it, and ask for some re-training on that aspect. If that doesn't happen...raise some hell, Miss T.

You shouldn't. And in fact, I'll probably avoid that one if I ever find myself in your neighborhood.

Re: Gear Grinding 9: I Need a Wine!

Because people deserve to live their lives.

Because all workers deserve a fair wage.

Ok, let's see your CPA eff up your taxes as you pay him (x) amount of money, and you get stuck with the IRS bill. But hey, living wage!

Another note: do you think that other companies will raise their wages relative to the min $15/hr wage? If so, I have this super-rare Vikings Super Bowl Trophy to sell you.

Re: Gear Grinding 9: I Need a Wine!

If the minimum wage today was inflation adjusted to keep pace with the minimum wage from 1968, we would currently be paying $18.67/hr.

Federal minimum wage of $7.25 is criminal.

I think automatically keeping minimum wage at pace with inflation is literally the bare minimum we should do. It'd ease the concerns of you and your ilk because you'd never see the massive one-time jump that shocks your conscious. Instead, it would just gradually increase over time.

I don't make much. I'm far from the 1%. Hell, if I can make the 20% I'd be happy. ;)

Makes too much sense.

Such logic is not allowed.

Re: Gear Grinding 9: I Need a Wine!

Just give them more training and a higher salary, right?

Yes. Train them to be qualified for the job, the ones not qualified are weeded out, and then the qualified get the benefits of doing the job correctly. See how that works? And yes, I see what you did there. :p

Re: Gear Grinding 9: I Need a Wine!

Finding out I need 5 references for an internship on short notice. Not all personal.

After the whole Chaplain fiasco at Tyson last year...

I work with autistic kids, and our work is kept on an iPad. Today, IT did something and wiped out the session I saved earlier, as well as the work I had done with my afternoon kiddo.
