Re: Gear Grinding 6: I'm So Over This.

A neighbor of mine seems to have spent about $5k on their firework budget this year... Both Friday and yesterday they got going about 8:30p and kept going till well after 11pm. Tonight we are already 45 minutes into a firecracker display and I'm sure the main event is still to come...

As with most things, moderation is key... I know that it's the 4th, but there is a limit when it's a constant barrage

Mine popped the grand finale at straight up midnight last night. I had the bedroom radio on to listen to the news before going to sleep. ... Radio? What radio? Worse? Missed the entire top-of-the hour CBS Radio news (easily 3 minutes) it was that loud that long. And that was from about 400 yards away!

Re: Gear Grinding 6: I'm So Over This.

I have an active job and go through about 2-3 liters of water a day. Rarely drink pop. Iced tea is my beverage of choice.

Physical job (collecting carts and lifting heavy items for Sam's Club members), Endurance athlete (in training for a 50 mile ultra and have 3 MORE marathons coming up this year, plus 3 Olympic duathlons [5K run/40K bike/10K run]), yoga/Pilates practitioner. Drink about 4-5 large (14 oz) cups of coffee a day, then have a 24 oz water bottle that I drink from and fill 5-6 times a day.

Maybe your neighbor is doing his part to mask the gun shots during the top weekend for gang killings.

Re: Gear Grinding 6: I'm So Over This.

Or, just remove himself from people that are as stupid as to think and say those things. Bob, you don't need those people around to give you **** about stuff like that.
Sage advice.

Its bad enough that you would start having flashbacks to Baghdad, and I've never been to Baghdad.

When you're more technically competent than the helpdesk agent who is supposed to be resolving your incident.

I posted all 11 of the steps that I have taken to attempt to resolve the issue thus far, with results. He's already repeated 5 of them.

And did the helpdesk agent then wait until 1AM to tell you to "kindly do the needful"?

Re: Gear Grinding 6: I'm So Over This.

If an adult walks into me while playing this Pokemon thing it will take all I can not to punch them in the face. No, not really but come on people. And not even for the walking into me part, the fact adults are doing this is just beyond absurd.

According to a video at the Post they attribute one drowning to the game in WY and several thefts in MO by way of a luring feature although I'm not familiar with how that would work.

Seriously?

Who are you to judge?

It's one thing to play a game, it's another to not pay attention to your surroundings and those others occupying the space. Children get drawn into their devices and games, adults should know to merely check it quickly while walking, or move out of the way so as to not be a pain in the *** to everyone else.

This is a hockey board.

Which implies you know how to check. :)

Same effect as a punch, but "sorry, didn't mean to run into you" still works.

Wasn't there a Star Trek TNG episode about this... I think it was called "The Game"...

I deleted it when I realized that's what he was talking about rather than just playing there game.

So checking would work, but clearly no face washing the pokemon players.
