Gaza 2023: The Next Episode

Who is making that counterargument? I’m not trying to be abrasive I truly don’t know.

They’re not the same thing, so do those people acknowledge genocide?

It has been argued that genocide requires a specific intent to completely destroy and remove a population, which some contend is absent in Israel's observed goal of dismantling Hamas rather than harming Palestinian civilians. (yeah, I know)

Other observers have also claimed that Israel at times has provided humanitarian efforts, provided evacuation warnings, and facilitated the entry of food and aid into Gaza.

Now imho that is bullshit and deflects from the atrocities Israel has perpetrated. You will never, ever see me argue on behalf of Israel in any way, shape or form.

What they are is doing is evil, inhumane, disgusting, etc., etc., America should publicly condemn their actions, accuse them at the very least of having committed war crimes, demand they cease and leave Gaza, and we should end funding Israel immediately.

But how do we advance globally solving this, and how do we avoid election pitfalls from arguing what it is called?

Globally, everyone else, except the current version of us, will do a far better job solving it. Domestically, who are we as Democrats worried about losing? Fetterman? I’d say calling a spade a spade (genocide) is important, while keeping the collective “Left” happy.

You're going to have a problem with all the moderate dems. It's a big tent. Litmus tests always cause problems on the Democratic side. The Republicans just play pretend on everything as long as Elon and his bunch get there money.

So we’re worried if some Democrats or Democratic candidates label it a genocide, alongside a couple of global bodies, that moderate Democrats will stay home? Or vote Republican? November 2024 demonstrated how stupid and ignorant the average voter is in this country, but moderate Democrats should still be upset enough with the direction of the country that the label of that isn’t as much of an issue as it was in 2024. Maybe I’m too hopeful.

Too hopeful. There are a lot of wishy washy people out there and Dems love to send messages like voting 3rd party, etc. when they're feelings get hurt.

This is all Democrats in Disarray.

Every story that isn't about Dump's totalitarian tirades, the economy in the shitter, the ridiculous and self-defeating war, or the Epstein files, is a distraction. If I were the Dems I would not engage with any. Every time a story like this comes up, pivot, pivot, pivot.

There is an irregular quadrilateral between Spokane, Bermuda, Key West and Nogales of dead minds and dead souls. It is America's Inoperable Tumor and it is killing us.
