Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

So you have to get a charlie card and then a weeks ticket? Who came up with the name charlie card anyway :)

The card itself is free; it's simply a holder for the services you buy and add to it. You can add $$ and each time you use it the fare is subtracted from the balance. You can also add a pass, which is what everyone is suggesting; it'll be the most convenient. On the way into the station you tap the card on the reader.

There is a paper option, called a Charlie Ticket; you can put money or a pass on that too, but the cards seem to work better.

Since this seems to be the thread of real information for visitors...

Anyone want to have a meet up between games? For someone more familiar with the rink- is there a good place where we can get together?

Some of us know many other posters, so it would be pretty easy to start a group- but where?

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

it's so much more convenient to just wave the card in front of the fare gate sensor instead of inserting a ticket. The ticket mechanisms are really wonky and sometimes take a long time to give you your ticket back.

I will agree with this statement.

Thanks for mention of Andrew Ference, my favorite Bs D- man since Booby Orr. Lived in the North End year-round, rode his bike everywhere. Bs sure could use him now.

I'd recommend the Fours (Canal Street, across from the Garden).

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

You can leave between games???

No..it says on the ticket "No Readmittance." In the "old days" there used to be three sessions, so you could go to the 1st game, go out to get something to eat and then get back for some part of the next one. For whatever reason, they don't do that anymore.

But you can go to the Fours on Saturday before the final...get there early before all the BU fans... :D :D :D

In addition to what chickod said, even if you could, it probably wouldn't be practical. The Four's and the other places near the Garden will probably be packed with fans from the second game who don't attend the first. If you're attending both games and want to eat at one of the places near the Garden, I'd suggest getting there around 2:00 and eat before the first game.

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

Just for reference, I went to the Bruins game on Saturday. 7 PM start time, I was at The Fours around 4:30, and the wait was 45 minutes to an hour.

Now, they move you in and out of there pretty fast, so that would've been enough time to eat, but we decided to head down the street to The Grand Canal instead.

And therein lies the problem...it's a LOOOOONG time from 2:00 until the end of the 2nd game...but if you like paying $9.00 for a slice of pizza, feel free to eat at the Gahden...

Ah. During the games. Sorry, I was thinking pre-game. I'm not as familiar with the Loge or Balcony levels but I believe the Xfinity Zone would be ideal for a meetup. For those with access in the Club, Deck or Suites (5th and 6th floors) I would recommend Legends (level 3). They have desserts to die for. If they are full, try Banners (enter thru stairway beside NESN broadcast center, restaurant is 6th floor). Heck, if you get a seat overlooking the ice surface, you may decide to watch the game from there!

ETA: Legends is members only. Sorry. They might make an exception for the Frozen Four...don't know. Here is the page from TD Garden with bars and pubs. They don't mention the Xfinity Zone, but it's there.
Also, concession stand info with maps. It looks like they've dropped Xfinity and are just calling it Fan Zone.

Do you think a club would be open and in business for a non-Bruins game?

We sat in the "premium seats" for Hockey East. It was weird, because they were just "seats" in the sense that they had no added significance since the luxury suites were unoccupied. Yet, you still couldn't go up there unless you had tickets for that level and there WAS ordering available from their menus (but I would ask anyone...WHY??? $17.00 for a hamburger or club sandwich)

So,then, Fan Zone East of Fan Zone West? The two logical places.

Just need to pick one.

I'd say, in honor of our east coast hosts- Fan Zone East- between games Thursday.
