Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

To the bigger baseball fans, when was the last FF where there wasn't a MLB game the same weekend? Buffalo?

Reply to a few other posts.

Fenway Sports Group, majority owner of NESN, is the contracted promotions "arm" of Boston College Athletics. If the Eagles were in the F4, there would have been more coverage.

I got my tickets from the NCAA Exchange. Included, were "Fan Experience" wristbands for entry to the Legends Club. Cash bar and food. Opens 2 hours before the game(s), and an hour after. Admittedly, this is difficult location for many fans to get into during the short time between periods. The Suite Level also serves liquor. After years of attending the F4, I note the hypocrisy.

I note that the NCAA is smart enough to get the prices up to a height, that the waiting list is virtually eliminated. Thus, missing out on the beer sales in the entire building seems pretty dumb. Please don't offer the "student" excuse. Only 600 tickets per team, and over $100 to get in the building. All the school tickets go to Alum and Season Ticket holders. Beer would sell at $9. + Not many current students are in "play".

Plus, the demographic of the people that attend the F4, vs the typical Bruins home game crowd.

Times have changed. The F4 is a far cry from Saturday night games at Fitchburg State with $.50 drafts....

Had a good lunch at the Fours yesterday. Lots of cool pics of Boston sports figures. Walked around, not a great day weather wise but typical for April in New England. I hope tonight is a competitive game.

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

Me too. I think a 4-0 or 5-1 BU victory is about as competitive as I want.

JK, unfortunately, this one is probably a grind it out nail-biter. Good. For neutral fans and local cardiologists.
Haha... this is going to be a classic.
PC goes up 6-2. BU pulls goalie with 16:00 to go. PC finds the empty net this time.

Final score: PC 12, BU 8 :)

I'll take the 8-7 3OT classic from 1991...same losing team, of course ;)

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

The freedom trail kicked my *** today. I'm going to be sore tomorrow. Should have brought better shoes. Planning on doing my night photos tonight since last night was kind of crummy out and I was abducted by bbdl and scarlet.

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

Well my hotel made my day and comped the $20 breakfast buffet. A nice way to cap off a national championship. Thanks DoubleTree Downtown Boston. Homeward bound now...

It's a great day for hockey.

Bumping this list forward for future reference. Well done, The Zlax45.

Another Kendall Square Option: Commonwealth. Chosen by another member of our group, it features classic American dishes very nicely done. Meatloaf, Chicken Pot Pie, Lamb, Pork Chops. Some might find it a touch pricey. An entrée plus an ala carte side dish would likely be in the $30 - $35 range. But everyone in our group was very pleased with their meal. Mac 'n Cheese side dish was especially well received.

Home now; thanks to all who posted travel/tourist advice in this thread.

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

Thanks for the help, had fun in your city. Saw some decent hockey, saw some sights and had some good food. Left my house thursday and it was snowing, came home to sunny and upper 50s, Nice!

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

Thanks Boston. I had a **** good time and can't wait to get back.

Re: Frozen Four - Where to Eat? Drink? Must See Stuff

A few. I didn't get the night pictures I wanted though the courthouse was a nice find I didn't have planned originally.

I'll put some of them in a gallery and share it in the lodge sometime this week.

DoubleTree is a solid chain, IMO. They actually go out of their way for service, as far as my experiences go.
