As it will be pertinent to pgb-ohio's analysis, i originally did not enter the lottery, but got the following email from the ncaa on January 14th:

TO: Past Attendees of the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four.

SUBJECT: Tickets Available for the 2011 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four.


Great news! A limited number of tickets to the 2011 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota, have become available and we wanted to invite you, as a past attendee, with the first opportunity to purchase these tickets.

Here are a few very important notes regarding these tickets:

1. A maximum of four all-session tickets per household may be purchased.

2. Remaining available seating is located primarily in the 200 level of Xcel Energy Center in the end sections (208 – 215 and 223 – 230). Available 200 level seating includes reserved locations at bar rails with a high back bar stool for seating. Limited club level seating includes reserved locations at bar rails with a high back bar stool for seating.

3. As a prior attendee, you will receive a priority credit for purchasing these tickets; however, your seating location will NOT be dependent upon your current priority level. Seats will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis and seats will be assigned randomly.

4. You may access the link to purchase tickets by clicking here. The deadline to purchase tickets is 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, Sunday, January 23. The website will no longer accept orders once the available amount of tickets has been exhausted or the January 23 deadline passes, whichever occurs first.

Jeez Greg, that is better than my single I won through the original drawing. I got

I think it's very clear that the NCAA has more supply than demand and in my opinion it's not because of a bad (recovering) economy but because their prices have gone up. I hope the NCAA people are happy. They tried to grow the sport and instead hurt it with a stupid stunt in Detroit and high prices.

those won't be bad at all.... dead center behind the net... pretty close to what i had in DC and those seats were terrific...

BCEagle did me a solid with the secondary sale. We moved fast and I think he has high priority, so I got C8, so I'm pretty pumped.

This is the first time I've gotten lower level seats in my 8th year of winning the lottery. Of course last year they offered an option for higher vs. lower priced seats so that one is tough to gauge as I opted for the cheaper seats (thank God considering the fiasco in the lower seats). I don't think we've heard of anyone not winning the lottery this year so to me people are not entering the lottery like they once were and people with priorities have decided not to go to Minnesota since many people around my priority (and even lower) are in the lower bowl and club sections.

Your location is virtually identical to mine, and we share the same priority level. See you at the X! I'm guessing you share my mild disappointment with the assignment. But one thing I can reassure you about is that you're not being punished for skipping the FFFF. I attended last year, but I'm right there with you this time.

Interesting results so far.

I've been tracking the Priority 13s & 14s with the following tally:
My tickets = Section 108, Row 18 (corner)
Others reporting =
Section 108, row 16 (corner)
Section 108, row 16 (corner)
Section 108, row 16 (corner)
Section 108, row 18 (corner)
Section 107, row 18 (corner)
Section 107, row 18 (corner)
Section 113, row 20 (corner)
Section 103, row 24 (center)
C24, row 2 (near corner)
C24, row 3 (near corner)

Notice any consistency? All of the Priority 13s & 14s that have reported have all been seated in one of the Lower Bowl sections on the curve. Most have been assigned to Section 108. Only one individual (Section 103, row 24) was fortunate enough to land between the blue lines -- and guess where he/she resides? Minnesota.

Could the above seat assignments have been done by coincidence or by design? Hmmm.

Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but Im a Priority 3. Every year, I submit my application, print it out and mail it to the NCAA with a letter asking for my seats to be in the lower bowl. All I know is I'm three for three on the lower level and I take 4 tickets. I had lowers (sweet seats) to Washington and Denver and sent in letters for both prior to. I sent in a letter again this time and got four seats on the blue line 8 rows from the ice. Winning.

Priority 10. 2 tickets in section 102 row 16.

For the historians out there, back in '02 I was a priority 1 and got 2 tickets in section 123 about half way up. So I guess getting in every year since then has its benefits?

Priority 4, sect 110, row 3, 4 seats

Any theories on how the cheap seats in Detroit vs the more expensive option might be playing out here? I know many are talking about having not bought tickets for the disaster at Ford Field. Just curious...

Here are the lottery results for the group I travel with:
priority 11 - Section C09, row 4, seats 5-8
priority 11 – section C09, row 4, seats 9-11
priority 10 – section C22, row 4, seats 9-10
priority 7 - section 109, row 19, seats 5-8
priority 5 – section C38, row 2, seats 3-4

Kind of interesting how our two priority 11's ended up with adjacent seats without any kind of a special request. And our priority 7 is the one in the lower bowl.
