Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

Will be interesting to see Montgomery at pro level soon

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

So some of you DID notice the 3m platform someone installed at the united center.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

...
You could also count 2015 (Hockey East was the host, but BU got to play in Boston).
...

Don't forget that they lost to Providence, also a Hockey East school, in the Finals.

Interesting end of season for BU. Including the Hockey East Finals, four of their last six games were at the Garden.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

IMO both of the better teams won last night, Denver has to be a pretty heavy favorite though the way that they played. However, anything can happen if Miska happens to stand on his head which is the only reason this Duluth team is this far. They had no business getting out of OT against OSU but he made some incredible saves to allow UMD to get their feet under them.

Thanks for chiming in you idiot. I'm sorry you live somewhere so miserable that you have to dwell on hockey for the only happiness in your life. Why don't you just kill youself now and spare us your whining, or move somewhere worth living. Sick of your whining. Have all the national titles you want we're still happier with our quality of life than you. You lose horribly to Denver. They may not have as many titles but have a way better quality of life and don't have to complain about something that is over with, idk.... If UMD lost in the regionals I wouldn't be here complaining no matter what the reason but that's the difference between many and Sioux fans. Really sorry Sioux hockey is all you have in life. Maybe have some kids so your life can have some meaning??

I'm surprised this didn't get called out more. Regardless of what team you root for, you have to be a special kind of ****ty to say this to a person. There's no place for this on a freakin college hockey msg board. I don't care if he made fun of your beloved doggies and called out their diving as many other fans have. This is a shameful thing to say to someone when you don't know the first **** thing about them.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

UMD is the greatest diving team of all time and I'm pretty proud of it. UND fans are just bitter because Cam Johnson got hit and Tucker Poolman got hurt. You guys wish you could dive like us! :D

Bring on Denver!

Don't forget that Brock Boeser and Tyson Jost happened to get hurt against Duluth this season as well. FWIW, I don't mind a team towing the line with physical play. That's part of the game. What is embarrassing is the diving.

As I said before, I'll be rooting for Duluth on Saturday...but I'm really hoping that UMD brings their hockey team and not the diving squad.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

My question would be whether it's actually miserable to live there.

I'd be far more miserable having to live around a bunch of do_che bags who think that where they live is the envy of the nation or even the Midwest.

Please... :D

tUMD

As much as I care. No bad guys in this one - just a team with less titles.

This. So much this. Trust me, I live in Colorado. People here think it's on par with Heaven.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

I used to receive death threats pretty much on a regular basis both on and off the ice. Good times.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

Our code was if another teams player dives and we get a penalty, he gets a nice calf slap later. Vannelli had the best calf slap.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

You have to give the duluth's credit. They are professional divers. if they are ahead, they don't do it. If it's tied they don't do it, unless it's late and they are getting beat to the puck. If they are behind, they do it on a regular basis, but only in the third period.Nothing like a good power play in the middle of the third to get the score even.Soccer players could get lessons from them.

OK, you are well beyond what is ok. Frankly I'm embarrassed you're a UMD fan.

Duluth's flopping antics are emarrassing to the sport. I'm just glad that the refs in this game aren't taking the bait. Just wish they'd have the balls to call Duluth for embellishing.

There were a couple that I certainly saw. One by Osterberg I believe. I haven't watched them on TV this season, until last night, so I could have been missing things live at games. Very sad.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

What a tremendous beat-down applied by DU over ND. The score was not even indicative of the total domination; it seemed like DU was just toying with ND and turned it on when they wanted to. Possession time and Corsi was probably off the charts for DU. As a group. they were better, faster, and more skilled skaters than ND; it was not even close. What surprised me were the intangibles: DU never quit and won puck battles like crazy, even their goalie can handle the puck. Terry was awesome along with the entire team. The only ones who showed up for ND was Gross (skill and making plays) and Gilbert (grit and nastiness; great hit). Great season ny ND nonetheless. I love watching DU play.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

Makes me mad because we nearly swept them in Denver in December and have been #1 for most of the year but at this point it's hard to disagree. They've been killing everyone. We got our dreams dashed by Denver in 2004, not excited for it to happen again

While of course 2011 comes to mind, 2004 is just what I was thinking of. This UMD team seems more like the 2004 team in that the 2011 team had better defense and Reiter did his job, whereas the 2004 team had to rely on Reichmuth too much. That 2004 loss was heartbreaking in that UMD hadn't lost when leading after 2 all year.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

At least two of Denver's early national championships should be revoked for bringing in overage Canadians. Mother of all cheaters. Terrible school.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

Mike Eaves University of Wisconsin. As a player in 1977, as a coach in 2006. George Gwozdecky as a player at Wisconsin in 1977 and as head coach at Denver in 2004 and 2005.

Gwoz also won one as an assistant coach at Michigan State.

Of course...as for the diving there's no guarantee that it will not happen. Gonna a good game if UMD can keep it tight as always. I still think DU pulls it out but UMD is the second best team in the nation
