Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

Moron, how are you complaining about that? Hate seek and destroy hockey

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

Come on ESPN, get some better announcers for the championship game. This is brutal. Neither one of them know what they're talking about.

Credit to UMD, fantastic season and worthy opponents.

And yes....umd fans are still the classiest of the NCHC that I have known.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

Congratulation, Denver.

Heck of a team, and when flowing, mesmerizing to watch.

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

A BIG Green congrats to DU! They were not only the best team but also the most fun team to watch. As a team, they had the best skill set of hands and feet...their "edges" were phenomenal. Their 5-man cycle in their O zone was very much like the Chicago Blackhawks with the Kane/Panarin/Anisimov and Keith/Hjalmarson doing their thing. Oh by the way, they also had the "hockey smarts" to compliment these traits. Troy Terry was their best player. And who would not if you had a son, play for Monty. Now that this season is officially over all the hard work starts over again. Go BIG Green!

Re: Frozen Four: Denver, Notre Dame, Harvard, Minnesota-Duluth

I wonder how many of the following players will be with Denver throughout the 2017-2018 season: Henrik Borgstrom[Florida draft pick], Dylan Gambrell [San Jose], Troy Terry [Anaheim], Blake Hillman [Chicago], Jarid Lukosevicius [free agent], Tanner Jaillet [free agent]. The first four are draft picks of NHL teams. The last two are free agents whose play this season may have placed them in favorable bargaining positions as free agents. The lure of beginning a professional career can be difficult to place on hold in favor of remaining in college.

On another front, with the NHL choosing not to send players to the Olympics next year it will be interesting to see what migration--if any--there will be by college players from all conferences to various Olympic teams.

As for Denver, Jim Montgomery interviewed with Calgary last summer before returning to the Pioneers' program. He certainly should be among the candidates to fill an opening at the NHL level once the usual firings which accompany the end of the NHL season take place.

I sat next to a slew of NHL scouts during the semifinals. If what they said holds up, Denver is in for a world of hurt when it comes to departures.
