Fitness (Diet/Exercise) 2018: One Step At A Time

Flat out, referee should’ve abandoned that match just based on what you’re describing. If both teams are debating whether to play or not, don’t f-ing play.

Surgeon:
-The joint line is mostly invisible.
-Still stay off it for the most part, though I can drive with the boot off or with a Croc/sandal. Still need to go down the stairs on my butt, pushing myself up or down to the next step.
-In two weeks, I can start walking with the boot and some balancing exercises without the boot.
-Follow up is October 23rd at 9:45 AM.

After 4 years, I'll be able to at least walk without pain. And for someone who used to run marathons, being able to walk is a pretty big accomplishment.

Bought an elliptical. Scheduled delivery for Thursday. Hopefully we didn't get a shit one. We got a good deal since it was last year's model and they are probably trying to clear warehouse space.

They get very good reviews from CR, Reddit, and the (likely paid) reviews on various exercise sites. Glad to be finally rid of our gym membership. Should see payback within 16 months after discounts, work rewards/programs, etc.

My physical therapist has been pushing me this week. I'm now wearing my athletic shoes for appointments, walking much more, and doing more balance work.

And combined with living on my own, I'm cooking at home more often, which means I feel better.

Finally got the elliptical down the stairs and assembled. Took far too long. Instructions were well written but too small and crowded on the illustrations.

Anyways, powered up and it's quite nice. Very happy with it so far.

I've been cleared for weights, elliptical, rowing machine, and the bike.

My PT wants me to bring my athletic shoes to every appointment . Wednesday, all restrictions will be lifted.

Grand Rapids Pride Fest 2023: lasted 1.5 hours, struggled to walk back to my car, needed surgery in August.

Grand Rapids Pride Fest 2024: lasted roughly 4 hours, and while my feet were hurting at the end, I woke up the next day with minimal pain.

Wife and I got a new dog about 6 weeks ago. Of course, I'm responsible for walking him 80-90% of the time, and he's young so he likes a good trot. Stepped on the scale a couple days ago and I'm down 8-10 lbs from the winter months. Wife is jealous. Could've been you too dear, if you helped walk him more. :p
